Dylan Redwine Case Discussion Thread/Dylan's Remains Found

Dylan's remains were found, the matter is still considered a criminal investigation. So is it something other than a murder?

But something like suffocation/strangulation/poisoning will most likely not show up on autopsy after all this time. We all remember poor little Caylee Anthony. No cause of death. Mommy found not guilty and is walking free.

I know you are probably right, 7 months is a long time, but this is all I have left to hope for. :justice:

Other forms of trauma that an anthropologist may find evidence of include strangulation, electrocution, chemical or heat related trauma, or explosions.

This stood out to me but then again dad only had ordered ordered visitation with Dylan.

Dylan Redwine's father, Mark Redwine, arrived at the La Plata County Sheriff's Office Thursday morning to be briefed about the discoveries.

Redwine's mother, Elaine Redwine, had been briefed earlier this week.

Another thing was when the Sheriff Spokesman Bender said,

"The remains were found in a drainage about 8 to 10 miles from the father's house, through the rural road system, Bender said. It is closer by a straight line. "

Sorry if this comes out sounding cold, but tact isn't one of my strong points. I'm not at all surprised that Dylan is dead, but I'm very surprised that they found his remains. I think it says a lot for the LE there to be able to find one little boy and all/many of his belongings in that large area. Between the woods, hills, ravines and everything else, I think they deserve a lot of credit for bringing him home. I hope we'll also soon be in awe of how quickly they have a suspect jailed and charged. R.I.P.

I wonder if they already have someone in mind. Didn't they say for the community to not worry like other children are not in danger? Could it have anything to do with that deputy ?

Why would the mother be briefed before the father and not together or on the same day??? Is that normal???

IIRC LE said the same thing in Hailey Dunn's murder case. Still no arrest.:banghead:

Is this a reporter? I'm not sure how he knows what Cory texted to MR and why he would conclude that Cory blames his Dad from this text?

Yes he is.

Not just A reporter. He is THE reporter, the one that had us fighting over who "had" to watch the news and report back (without drooling all over their keyboard).

Hey passionflower!

I read earlier today and posted tweets that said mom was at the Sheriff's office already this morning and dad was on his way as he was out of town. I think E was aware earlier this week of items found, as stated in the news & both were told the horrible truth this morning before the news broke. hth

Off topic slightly, but I wonder what or who the dogs hit on at the lake? They seemed so certain that someone was definitely in there.

Dylan's remains were found in a drainage ditch. That water flowed over him and down into the lake. I wonder if that is why the dogs hit on the lake water?

[ was she told earlier this week or this morning?]

Darn it, another child gone far too soon!
So sad for his loved ones!
Thankful they have answers after so long, but wish it was a different answer.
Thank you to all LE, search teams and regular citizens who searched for Dylan until they found him.
^I^ Rest in Peace Dylan ^I^

Both. earlier this week when items were found & today when it was confirmed it was Dylan is how I've read the news today.

I thought I had read that they had both been contacted and told to come to speak with LE, but MR was in NM so it took him a while to get there. ER was able to go right away. I assumed that was why she knew first. Now I might have to go back and reread because I read things fairly quickly today.

Hopefully, a thorough criminal investigation will determine what happened and soon. But not all homicides end up being murder.

It really annoys me when LE says not to worry, but no arrests have been made. Anyone who would murder a child could be a threat to anyone, even another adult if they have a violent temper, for instance, or feel threatened. If they do not have a suspect, they have no business saying it, and if they do, they still don't, IMO.

That is a true statement. Often they are accidental manslaughters, or self defense cases. But I think that in the vast majority of cases, where the body of a child is found dumped off a cliff, it is going to be a homicide. :rose:

Did anyone save the original 9 News Conference with Dan Bender? When I try to use a prior link, it just goes to the latest coverage (the one with MR talking).

RIP Dylan :(

I think it's possible that the freezing conditions would preserve his body. They had snow in Colorado Springs and the area he was found well in to May this year which I have been told is not normal.
