Dylan Redwine Case Discussion Thread/Dylan's Remains Found

Gah!!!! Does Mark really believe nobody heard/read The La Plata County Sheriff's office announce that this was not the work of an animal?

“All they know is that he was for a lack of better terms, mangled by wild animals. Geographically, Middle Mountain is basically directly across the street from my house,” Mark said. “So it wouldn't take long to walk out the front door and be.......It was right below the road there.”

I read some of the news stories tonight and did find a few minutes ago that the Denver Post quotes the father saying that LE told him that only 4 or 5 bones have been found :(

The above article further details other items found as told to them by Mark. I thought LE asked Dylan's parents not to give out details? So why is Mark going against a request made by LE?

Investigators also found a piece of the boy's shirt, one sock and his shoestrings but not the backpack or other items he had when he went missing, Redwine said.

I am honestly so sickened that Mark found it necessary to put some of these details out in the media. What purpose does he think it serves, other than to shock and hurt Elaine? How can he talk about a proper burial and respect while throwing out stuff like "ravaged by wildlife", "mangled", etc?

Could Mark get in trouble for talking to the press when told not to by LE?

Surely he could be giving clues to the perp about what was found and what was not found? - so in affect he is hindering the investigation into his sons death by giving out info that should not be in the public domain when nobody has been caught yet???

:moo:

Remember way back when MR said he believed Dylan was far away and no longer even in the area?

This statement has been in my head since the announcement yesterday.
Makes a person wonder...:waitasec::waitasec:

As much as hearing the things Mark has revealed turns my stomach, I hope that he keeps talking. Eventually he may slip and reveal details that he didn't learn from LE.

So so sad. When a child is missing for more than a few days or few weeks, time begins to pass as though they will never be found. You become accustomed to living in the limbo of "still missing". Even though I personally felt he'd not be found alive, hearing he's been found is still a jolt and a crushing sadness nonetheless.

You are obviously very much loved by your family Dylan, and now loved by thousands of strangers. You will not be forgotten. Rest in everlasting peace. May justice for you be swift.

MOO...MOO...LE definitely did not want to discuss what had been found during the search. MR's ease of discussion and the number of media outlets with whom he discussed the information baffles me.

What confuses me even further is the varying descriptions repeated. It is difficult to say if this is a result of the media or MR. Does this confuse anyone else? The two following descriptions present very different images, IMO.

“Ninety-eight percent of Dylan is scattered about the countryside," said Redwine, his voice trembling in an interview Thursday night.
Mark Redwine said investigators told him they had found only four or five of his son's bones and that they would continue searching. He said authorities told him his son was ravaged by wildlife.

Mark says deputies warned him before showing photos of what they found. In the pictures, Dylan’s body appeared mangled and torn apart by wild animals. Officials are still determining cause of death, but Dylan’s father says right now, he hopes people will focus on the loving boy his son was.

Furthermore, LE seemed to be sure they WERE NOT going to continue searches for further evidence.

This part of the article stood out to me. Cory was part of the search! Sad. It also contradicts what Mark said about only authorized personnel were allowed.

Redwine was part of the search party that canvassed Middle Mountain, just outside of Durango. He was looking for any signs of Dylan, and still holding on to hope that he would find his little brother.

I feel the same way. Mark has already stated matter of factly that Dylan was on the mountain for seven months (paraphrased by me). Dylan could have been held somewhere else and dumped there later--unlikely, but who knows for sure how long Dylan was where he was found?

Listen to Mark ]chuckle and say,

"They can have a homicide all they want to, but if they feel like I had any involvement with it, then why am I standing on my front porch having this conversation with you?"

I did not hear the ' trembling' in his voice that I've read many times was present. Also LE was given a perfect opportunity to clear MR, she asked directly if they think MR is involved and he said haven't identified anyone as a suspect at this point. Who said yesterday that there was no reason to believe ' family was involved' ?

I have no words, well I do but I don't want a T/O. I do not understand the nonchalant way he says these things only HOURS after the body of his 12 year old son was identified. Most parents would still be in shock not taunting their ex with horrific details of the discovery or chuckling that he is still free. Mark is doing a fine job of making himself look very guilty.

All I can say to that is wow... I am shaking my head right now in disbelief.

Also interesting how the officer answered the question about whether Mark is a suspect. Or I should say didn't answer. "We have not identified any suspects at this time." Not saying they don't have any, not saying Mark isn't one, just saying they haven't identified any. Which is obvious, since they haven't said anyone is or isn't. That says volumes, IMO.
