Dylan Redwine Case Discussion Thread/Dylan's Remains Found

What made me fall off the fence was when MR drank the whole night before the scheduled LDT. He could have cleared his name then and there.

Or at least tried. Maybe he would not have passed...but even taking it would have shown...something.

Yes, and he stated his fishing pole was missing. He wanted people to search the lake because Dylan wasn't there.
I'm in two minds, here, because I can't get a clear picture in my mind on how far from the lake Dylan's remains were...

1: Exactly what you just said there.

2. Or - the fishing pole was mentioned as a means of explaining -why- Dylan might be up there, in case his remains were indeed found in those initial searches.

I read the thread, but I don't see where the stepfather caught hell for years. Could you direct me to more information on this?

Prolly, should have said, imo, Ghostwheel. I live in the area and have been researching GMH for over five years. I personally talked to the person that eye witnessed GMH. and knew the other person in the sketch #1, who died a couple years ago. The GBI has always thought that Levy's murder was a drug revenge killing from my info and imo.(perceived hypothesis)

I believe if my son's fishing pole was missing..
My first thought would be, 'check the lake'..

Was this area searched in the initial searches. Had it been searched ever before? tia

I've kept an eye on this thread since the beginning but had to take a break for a while (had spinal surgery) so I'm sorry if this has already been posted.

Were cadaver dogs ever used in MR home or truck? I know that dogs alerted on the lake but don't remember if I've read if they were ever used in the home or truck. Thanks.

I have tried to find out that too, and if any pillows, sheets, blankets or any bedding was taken by LE from MR's couch, either for analysis, or for Dylan's scent for the SAR dogs. TIA

What did MR buy the night at Walmart with Dylan? Has that ever been released? Off topic but just wondering.

You mean not "take a nap"? (Sorry, I'm a little punchy tonight.) Seriously, though, I'd think the same thing if my son's backpack were sitting there. And I'd go out and look immediately. But I'm not a fisherman. For any fishermen out there, if you came home to take your child to a place you had promised them you'd take them, and they were not there, but their fishing pole was missing, would you look immediately, or wait and see if they turn up in, say, three or four hours, with a passle of fish? Which brings to mind, is fishing good in November?

Elaine had to have clothes brought from her house for the dogs to have Dylan's scent........not even a sock was left behind (at Mark's)

I believe the blanket that Mark said was used by Dylan had to many other scents (not a good scent item for the dogs)....

I don't have a link handy....so jmo/moo

The Walmart receipt has never been released. Mark mentioned that Dylan got a couple movies from the $5/bin (then next time he said the $1/bin). Mark said (I think) he picked up snacks/stuff to hold them over until they decided what they were doing for Thanksgiving...

I haven't been able to post until now since I read of the discovery of Dylan's earthly remains. Like many of you, I had a physical reaction to reading this news; I felt my heart griped, and then that horrid sinking feeling. I know we all prayed together, debated together (oh how we have debated!), and we racked our brains to help conjure up any little tidbit that might help find precious Dylan. There will be much more to be said about this case in the coming weeks and months. For now, I simply want to say my deepest condolences to Dylan's dear mother, and brother. I know that they will be victorious in finding justice for Dylan. God Bless them, and fortify them with our thoughts and prayers.

IIRC LE has not mentioned whether cadaver dogs were used in the home or truck. I think many people have asked the same with no answer as definitive. Also, dogs were said to have picked up on a scent early on at the intersection of 500 and 501 but lost the track quickly. Then according to MR in Tricia's 6/2 interview he said dogs only tracked a scent up to 50 feet from his front door. But, still don't know if cadaver dogs were used. Sorry, I can't help much.

<modsnip>

Exactly... It's not our fault that a majority of people seem to have come to the same conclusion. To some of us, it's clear as the nose on our faces, and not as a result of anything discussed here, but rather a personal decision on what we believe to be the truth. It's just an opinion, a suspicion of guilt based upon facts that are known about those involved in the case.

And just because many share it doesn't make it a threat to others who disagree, and it doesn't mean that everyone has been led to that conclusion by others. I for one have a plethora of reasons I thought about all on my own that inform my opinion and lead me to the conclusion that MR is somehow involved. I fully admit that there is a chance I may be wrong, but I firmly believe he is involved in some way besides simply being related to Dylan.
:shakehead:

As always, all of the above is MOO! :cow:

What I find interesting is that they did not cordon off the area and put up a tent as we have seen in other cases and search the area with a fine tooth comb looking for other bones or evidence. If I recall in the CA case and the JR case the detectives were at the scene for days checking the entire area. jmo

Interesting, I wonder what was on the receipt. I remember way back in one of MRs first video taped interviews, something that I felt weird about was MRs recount of what they did that evening, he said they watched a movie called "Adventureland" (2009, has girl from twilight, etc) and he said something along the lines of "it was a stupid movie" or something along those lines, but it seemed to me that no one that evening watched a movie...and idk, so I'm curious if that movie was actually watched or even opened? I think I saw that movie awhile ago, don't really remember if it was good or bad but it was just weird to me how MR responded right off the bat that they watched a movie, it was some dumb "stupid" movie Dylan picked at the store, and that's all they did all night?

I'm going to close this thread for the night in just a little bit. About 30 minutes or so. I understand that some are a bit frustrated over the closing of the thread at night, but there is just too much bickering going on and it is too difficult to stay on top of it when we have to play catch up.

Thanks. I did read that about Elaine, but did not have any source, either. Who stated that Elaine brought clothes? LE?

I wondered if they (LE) took any material, particularly from the couch.

The only thing I saw taken from the couch were 2 swabs, per the released search warrants (I think in the media thread?) 2 swabs also from the area in front of the couch, too, I think.

ETA: Fixing my mistake about the clothes if anyone read previously:

REDWINE: It was my understanding from his dad that everything Dylan had was in his backpack including his cell phone, his iPod, his iPod charger, his cell phone charger, all of his clothes. So we had to actually make a trip to get some of Dylan`s clothes from where we live in Colorado Springs because it was my understanding there were no clothes at his dad`s house.

None of Dylan’s belongings that could carry his scent was available in the first days of the investigation. But the family had articles of the boy’s clothing delivered on the weekend.

“We have the clothes,” Bender said Monday. “We don’t need them here (at the reservoir), but can use them later.”
