BBM - In my opinion, Elaine hasn't poisoned Cory's mind. Cory has made up his own mind. Likely when he caught his father having intercourse outside under a window with another woman while still married to Elaine. This ended in an altercation between Cory and Mark. IIRC Mark filed charges against Cory.
I hadn't heard that.
Ok, part 2 thoughts.
Mark says he was asked and the mother was asked not to raise money for Dylan. I find that extremely hard to believe.
Mark's ex girlfriend Karen reached out to Dr. Phil's producer and she says he had a great relationship with Dylan. She also says the mother and son are being unfair to Mark.
Dr. Phil tells Karen she doesn't have the right to say "How dare you." to the mother and make that kind of judgment against her. I totally disagree with that. I have an ex girlfriend who parted with me in less than civil ways. However, she was a GREAT mother to her daughter. If someone accused her of killing her daughter I'd step up for her and probably say something similar to anyone accusing her. Despite her being a biotch to me.
Mark's ex-wife Betsy believes he could have done it. I don't understand why Dr. Phil will allow her to speak to Mark disrespectfully, but defends the mother against the ex-girlfriend.
One of Mark's sons from that marriage believes he could be hiding Dylan. In fact Mark has a history of keeping his children away from the other parent. Nobody has ever said he harmed his kids. We now know Dylan isn't alive. That doesn't fit Mark's MO.
I also don't like how Dr. Phil is being so judgmental about Mark's way of dealing with this. Nobody will react the same way.
Mark agrees to take a polygraph test, but the examiner won't polygraph him because while hooked up he answers the polygrapher's question about feeling ready to take the test "No". Mark says he had three hours of sleep and a half bottle of gin. The polygrapher says that he'd ask Mark a question and he'd answer about something else. Mark agrees to take the test the next day, but still doesn't feel ready.
The polygrapher also tells Dr. Phil that he's never had a mother or father refuse to take a polygraph test.
The polygraph thing bothers me.
Dr. Phil gets mad because Mark says that Dr. Phil didn't do enough to find his child. I agree with Mark. It seems like the whole show was an ambush on him. JMO
So after watching part 1 and 2 of Dr. Phil I'd say that both parents are telling lies and it's possible that Mark refused the polygraph test because he'd been ambushed the day before. However, I wouldn't refuse if it was my kid missing. Polygraphers will ask a series of basic questions like your name, address and other things they already know. This establishes a baseline. So if Mark was feeling funky it would show up on the baseline and the polygrapher could then judge the other answers against that. Mark may not know or trust that. He'd been lied to by the police about his prior polygraph.
I'm a
little more suspicious of Mark now, but I'm not ready to accuse him.
