Yeah, I'm reasonably young and a lot of people my age do it, doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Flipping the bird however just goes to show his attitude even when he is being held for murder, her simply does not care.

BBM To me, it shows how arrogant he is.

Giving the Peace sign, then the other, just shows he doesn't care about what he did (like "FU peace" :croc: ). He knew people were watching him.

Back from sidebar, government continues to question Dr. King @NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 38m 38 minutes ago
King's testimony resumes; he's going to talk about the tremendous pain the "traumatic amputee" victims felt.
#Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 36m 36 minutes ago
King: the pain these people felt was "visceral", i.e. coming from inside the body vs. outside. Think: kidney stones. It's excruciating.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 36m 36 minutes ago
Dr. King says there's somatic & visceral pain, "in some cases visceral pain is much more challenging to treat" @NECN #Tsarnaev

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 34m 34 minutes ago
Dr. King: we want to make it tolerable or manageable, the goal is never to take pain away @NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 35m 35 minutes ago
King: We try to give patients with "terrible, visceral pain" enough meds to make it tolerable; we can never take the pain away completely.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 34m 34 minutes ago
King says he has reviewed the autopsy report of 8 year old victim Martin Richard. He will discuss now.
#Tsarnaev

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 34m 34 minutes ago
Dr. King says he reviewed Martin Richard's autopsy, says "he did not die instantaneously" @NECN #Tsarnaev

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 35m 35 minutes ago
Dr. King: "Martin died from blood loss, yes, he died from rapid blood loss" @NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 34m 34 minutes ago
King: Martin's injuries caused the little boy tremendous pain "without question".

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 34m 34 minutes ago
Dr. King says Martin would have felt both somatic & visceral pain @NECN #Tsarnaev

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 33m 33 minutes ago
Dr. King says the injuries to Martin Richard "without question" would have caused tremendous pain @NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 33m 33 minutes ago
King: The extensive injuries to Martin's abdomen and intestines would have been viscerally painful.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 32m 32 minutes ago
Dr. King: "the intestines were pulled & twisted...that would have with any degree of certainty caused visceral pain" @NECN #Tsarnaev

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 32m 32 minutes ago
Dr. King agrees with the government that Martin Richard would have been particularly vulnerable to injuries from a bomb @NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 31m 31 minutes ago
King: Martin was "particularly vulnerable to the effects of the bomb" - because he was small, a child, and so close to the blast.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 32m 32 minutes ago
Dr. King explains the shorter the person, the more exposed they are to the "blast radius" @NECN #Tsarnaev

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 31m 31 minutes ago
Dr. King: "for Martin to be standing close to that blast puts him at much greater risk to injury than someone who is taller" @NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 32m 32 minutes ago
King: quite simply, Martin's vital organs were closer to the blast just by virtue of his height.
#Tsarnaev

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 32m 32 minutes ago
Dr. King: "the ratio of blood loss is much higher because the aorta is smaller" @NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 32m 32 minutes ago
Nothing more for Dr. King; defense does not cross examine.
He steps down.

Govt prepares for next witness.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 28m 28 minutes ago
Gamble says the grate that surrounded the base of that tree was taken as evidence, Gamble photographed them @NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 28m 28 minutes ago
At issue: the area around the grate at the foot of the tree you can see #Tsarnaev behind.
Gamble reassembled the grate & photographed it.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 27m 27 minutes ago

Gamble is asked to stand where Martin Richard stood before the bomb blast; defense objects.
Overruled.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 26m 26 minutes ago
She's next asked to stand where #Tsarnaev stood.
Defense objects again and requests a sidebar; they don't like any of this demonstration.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 26m 26 minutes ago
Among the many things this printout does is give jurors a sense of how close the bomb was placed to the Richard family.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 25m 25 minutes ago
Gamble says you can see in her photos where the backpack was placed b/c the metal grate is cracked there.
#Tsarnaev

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 26m 26 minutes ago

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 22m 22 minutes ago
Gamble stands where Martin stood, and then where the bomb went off.
She measures the distance.
"I would say about 3 1/2 feet."
#Tsarnaev

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 21m 21 minutes ago

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 21m 21 minutes ago

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 19m 19 minutes ago

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 19m 19 minutes ago
Next photo is Martin in a Red Sox uniform; the 3rd is him sprinting in a race.
#Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 17m 17 minutes ago

This was horrific.. I knew it would be bad but this bad? I'm sat here in tears crying over Martin and his family and all the others who for seconds or minutes didn't know what was happening or if they were going to make it.

How can Tsarnev just sit there and not react? I imagine if he did a reporter would have mentioned it. How do the victims go up and testify without trying to reach over and punch him in the face? I don't know if I'd have as much dignity and strength as them.

The pictures of Martin and his family standing on the grate break my heart, they had no way of knowing what was about to unfold :( and hearing the father with the three year old in a stroller talk about not being able to unbuckle his son and the fear he had, it makes me hate DT. I don't care if death would be martydom in his mind, he doesn't deserve to share the same air these survivors breath. I literally hate him. I just want him gone. The description given of Martin, with his hair burnt, eyes rolled back, just makes me want to curl in a ball and cry. Because he was so short the bomb did more damage to him, his gift of childhood made him a perfect target for the blast. I hope whatever God DT eventually meets shows no mercy or forgiveness.

I also heard it was confirmed his family is here, and saw tweets asking if his mother will be arrested? What is that about? And how, as a mother, could you show support for your own son who murdered and maimed so many?

Heartbreaking testimony today. It's very difficult to read. I find it hard not to want the same thing for the defendant but I am trying. I find his coolness chilling. It will be very difficult to hear and accept the testimony that is sure to come from the defense with Tsarnaev showing no emotion and regret for his terrible actions.

His mother has an outstanding warrant for shoplifting I believe so she would be arrested for that. I also believe his mother both encouraged and supported the brothers actions fully and was a driving force behind this attack and their radicalised beliefs. JMO

Thanks! The thing I hate the most besides cold blooded murderers are thieves, and I hope she does get arrested.

His indifference to the pain he has caused is chilling to me as well. I don't know how, if you were simply forced into this via someone else like the defense has claimed, you wouldn't be overcome with emotion seeing the carnage you created. Wouldn't you be overcome with guilt and grief? Wouldn't you be begging for forgiveness from each victim and their families? I don't think you would sit there and act bored by what's happening.

Tsarnaev Family Members Arrive In Boston

BOSTON (CBS) – Family members of
convicted Boston Marathon bomber
Dzhokhar Tsarnaev have arrived in
Boston.
Several relatives arrived at Logan
Airport late Thursday afternoon.
Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, the mother of
Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev,
was not among the group of family
members arriving at the airport.

Just in time to give evidence in his defense. No surprises Mother Tsarnaeva isn't coming.
