So many people love Ellen. I just never have found her funny. Kind of a vanilla plain humor. But I don't watch the Oscars for who's hosting anyway.

I haven't lasted through the whole of a Oscars night yet.

MarthaTex, I kinda liked Sleepless in Seattle, but that's probably got more to do with Meg Ryan being in it than Hanks lol

Yeah. The little kid was cute too. My favorite Meg Ryan is When Harry Met Sally, and When A Man Loves a Woman. (I liked Andy Garcia as well; get out the fan! HOT FLASH, HOT FLASH)

To me, she has deteriorated in her roles as well as acting. Don't know why exactly.

Ellen is SOOO up for the job.

In fact, I can't think of a better choice than her off the top of my head.

She is toooo funny, not pretentious at all, and down to earth.

I agree she is the best choice. I got my hopes up for Jon Stewart and it took too long to get his jokes. And he chose to insult Hollywood, which truthfully I thought rather funny myself. I didn't watch the whole thing.

It's always way too long; wish they'd change the format somehow. Divide it into two nights or something.

Whoopie got way out of hand one year, tho' she can be very funny.

They oughta get Tom Cruise to do it - he he he.
