I don't think they considered Mark Korson to be her "regular" doctor. Hospitals generally consider your "regular" doctor to be your GP or in the case of a child, Pediatrician. They did, in fact, contact her Pediatrician. They also obtained her records from Tufts and from her admission earlier that week to Ct Children's.
It is obvious that they did not discuss the matter extensively with Dr Korson. That may be because (as some media outlets reported) he was out of town. Or it may be because he has a reputation of having a higher then normal number of patients whose parents are suspected by other doctors of medical child abuse. Apparently he usually disagrees with the other doctors assessments.
It is more then a little disturbing (at least to me) that Dr Korson has had more then 40 cases where medical abuse suspicions were raised. He completed his Fellowship training in 2000 - so in 14 years, he has had 2 to 3 instances a year? All of Boston Children's, with over 1000 doctors on staff - including a highly respected Mitochondrial Disease team, has 8 to 16 cases per year. In other words, most of their doctors won't have a patient's family suspected of medical child abuse in their careers.

Just my opinion, but
perhaps the much discussed Dr Korson is a large part of this problem?
