Next time you need medical treatment, I doubt you'll be going to see an editor for a diagnosis & treatment. IMO
This reminds me about the debate over the word 'theory'.
A diagnosis is indeed a doctors opinion, but it's an opinion backed by their experience and education in medicine. Opinion blogs on news sites and aggregate sites, are usually just ramblings of someone who has a venue. We get many crazy conspiracy theories on various opinion blogs.
