Can it be cured? Can it be treated? Did she get any better after being treated for it for over a year now?
So what good does this diagnosis do?
And by the way, it's usually not an impatient treatment. People don't normally get locked up in secure psychiatric hospitals for it.

People also don't normally refer to their child's caregivers as "Nazis."

These parents are not normal parents. They have not proved to the court they are fit parents capable of caring for an ill child no matter her diagnosis.

I'm betting all the arm-flapping being done now is a direct result of their insurance carrier refusing to pay for the ambulance and possibly for any care provided by BCH.

Insurance can pay for whatever transportation necessary to get the insured from point A to point B. If insured needs a plane then insurance can pay for that plane. So I find it funny that you are assuming insurance would refuse to pay for an ambulance.

Private medical insurance doesn't pay for a taxi or bus or an unnecessary ambulance. Insurance pays for whatever the policy says it will pay for and nothing more. It is all spelled out in the policy.

They can engage in delay tactics in the courts. These people seem to be adept at playing victim.

They had large amount of medical bills on their two children with mitochondrial disease. And now legal fees. They live in CT but have to drive every week to MA to see their child. Father does have a job or at least did prior to Justina being removed from their custody.

Storm Troopers nor Nazi's busted down the parents door of their home and removed this child by force and threw her in a cell. That simply didn't happen.

Yes, when you have a sick child, you should worry about saving the insurance money. Not about the best treatment. Clearly, if you actually worry about getting the best treatment for you child, there is something wrong with you. If you try to find the best specialist to treat your child complex medical condition, clearly something is very wrong with you.

They wouldn't be treating the child for the child's "complex medical condition" as their is no treatment for mito, just a simple cocktail.

They would be treating her for the FLU.
If there was a fear she would choke to death, that can be addressed in any hospital. There was no emergency that required her to be transferred out of state. I'd be willing to bet, she was transferred at the DEMAND of her parents. I'd bet they requested and made a huge stink over it.

The hospitals involved in this case are some of the finest in the world so please stop suggesting one provided best treatment over the other. The facts of this case show the parents seeking a specialist and then totally rejecting an opinion because they didn't agree with it. The ER doc saw this one for what it was as soon as it rolled to the door.
