I don't think the family would even finish giving the compensation to whatever they plan on giving to the facility once Jahi's heart goes out. I would be worried at another lawsuit in that case; you know, they weren't able to keep her alive after they were trying so hard to keep her alive at CHO, etc. etc.

It's a never ending LOSING battle, and poor Jahi (I will refer to her in name so no one here is upset) is trapped in it all.

AFAIK, the mother assumes all responsibilities if Jahi's heart fails. So that way she can't say CHO killed her child when they are no longer taking care of her and sue for millions.

new beginnings..."we will know more details in a couple hrs." say what?

"Her dad was brain dead for 7 yrs and then made a complete recovery".(Scerri) umm

So what on earth was the point of first announcing that she will go to New Beginnings, then refusing to disclose the facility, then announcing that she will go to New Beginnings?

keeping her on a vent at the current facility (CHO) until the new facility (NB) is ready? Maybe . . .

I pray her precious heart gives out before then

You mean the affidavit? Someone was talking about whether Dolan could be responsible for misrepresentations to the court in that document. Turns out, the "facts" in the affidavit were provided by his associate, not him. Nothing unusual about that, per se. But it would be her butt in the sling, not his, if the "facts" turned out to be knowingly false since she's the one who swore to them. Another possibility is that her distance from the case and the family might provide her with more credible deniability. Again, though, I don't think anything would ever come of it for the reasons I mentioned in another post. jmo

sorry for the long-winded response if that's not what you're talking about lol

It was Aimee Kirby. I didn't understand the significance of her signing it and not Dolan. Thank you for answering this question.

Next question: Why are settlement talks taking place now (Friday)? Is that why the coroner filed the death certificate so the family could get money up front to care for Jahi? TIA :seeya:

Jahi McMath, 13, was declared brain dead on Thursday, three days ... to write notes to her mother saying I'm swallowing too much mucus, mom — am I OK?

Thats what I was referring too, no child is gonna use the word mucus........I dont even use that word......

I'm sure if Jahi actually makes it there, mother and whoever else will set up another donation page asking for $$$$$ for around the clock care.

jmo

That's only vis-a-vis Children's. Not any other facility that is likely to have insurance. jmo

yep, I'd be shocked if she could talk at all.

I would not want to talk, I would just want to rest my mouth.

You think that is why the mother used the term "asset"?

I do not. That woman would NEVER use that term unless she was coached, she likely never used it before in her entire life.

No, not at all. I was just commenting on what Jahi's mother has said in interviews of the past.

IMHO these interviews with the media will not help the family, but will hinder them in the end - public record & will be used in Court if they choose to proceed

I believe the "asset" comment relates to the $30M they expect MOO

I think that she has picked up some jargon from the attorney. The mother, in that moment, seemed at a loss for words when speaking of Jahi (due to pressure or emotion), and seemed to just pick a word that seemed familiar or on the tip of her tongue.

Honestly I did not sense ANY high emotion in that video. I did notice the Uncle's attire thought; tight red spandex shirt and shorts.

Why do folks still keep making excuses for them? I don't get it.

Well maybe I do, but I am going to bow out for the night.

I understand that, but isn't that just to transfer her to the new location? Leads me to wonder, would there be some loophole somewhere that her mother releases all responsibility once Jahi is at the new facility? (I am thinking in law terms at this point.)
Just a question to ponder, and it would make me super nervous as the intaking facility (and I am aware it's not built and doesn't have permits, correct doorways, windows, etc.) and what responsibilities the McMath family would impose on me.

Theoretical here.

I am in the crowd of there will be an extension to keep Jahi at CHO on Tuesday because others in the world, not just me, are worried about the same (legal) responsibilities that their attorney could come up with. He really has thrown a lot out there.

Maybe she had a big vocabulary but any child who is bleeding all over is certainly going to think of blood before she thinks of mucus.

I honestly don't think the settlement discussions up to this point had to do with anything but the transfer issues. I don't think there was money involved. Obviously, that's jmo.

OK, the discussion is over. Nazi death camps have been evoked. (Godwin's Law)

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2014/01/...ia-girl-to-nazi-death-camps-forced-abortions/
Fox News host Mike Huckabee on Saturday warned that a California girl who was declared brain dead after tonsil surgery last month could lead to situations like Nazi death camps and forced abortions in China if the hospital took her off life support.

The former Arkansas governor and ordained pastor began his Fox News show by admitting that he did not have the medical experience necessary to understand 13-year-old Jahi McMath’s condition but he encouraged her family to fight against any attempts to remove her from life support even though doctors said she technically “died several weeks ago.”
