Probably rehashing old conversation but...

If Jahi is 'alive' then they cannot pursue any wrongful-death lawsuit, right? Surely they won't try to do both things at once? They cannot tell people she's getting better and will wake up soon, while simultaneously attempting to get money for her death? And if she is 'doing great', that limits the amount of 'injury' they can claim, since she isn't brain dead (and/or brain death doesn't exist), she's just sleeping it off.

Will they instead go for emotional damages or something? *obviously not a lawyer*

I'm thinking they are going for she is "disabled", therefore the 30 million dollar comment. However, I don't see how that would even be possible since she was issued a death certificate. :waitasec:

JM is still just temporarily deceased and will wake up soon from her nice nap all rested and refreshed. :notgood:

As a religious person, who has lost their only child, I can only think, what is it about death that you don't understand? It is appointed unto man, once to die. I wish I was able to speak to this mother. What can be better, to a religious person, than to be in heaven with God. Certainly not where Jahi is now. Why have other people, mothers, who have traveled this road, not spoken with her? I'm in SC, but if I was close to her, I would try to reach out. I feel sorry for her, but I certainly don't understand her.
I come on here every few days, praying that something has changed. But, no.

If she's "disabled" the bulk of any judgement would go into a special needs trust for Jahi. The family would NOT get 30 million dollars.

Just lost my post, but I think it would likely be paid by way of a present value annuity in trust and the trustee would be her guardian. I also think that, logically, the trust would be dissolved with the balance going to the residual beneficiary upon the "death" of the person. Most likely the mother, I would think.

I try to keep an open mind about a lot of things, but I'm pretty sure I'm not clicking on any link to a site that presents the Southern Poverty Law Center as the enemy.

I read it and thought maybe it was another site like the onion.

History repeats itself and most people remain blind to it. The media oligarchs of our time who love to dig up memories of the Nazi atrocities promote and protect the new Gestapo entrenched firmly within the bowels of the Healthcare system. Meanwhile the Southern Poverty Law Center distracts everyone by attacking people like Father Nicholas Gruner and his conferences on the Path to Peace and says not a word about an industry which starves little children to the point of death.[1]

One story that must not be swept under the rug is the brutal treatment of young Jahi McMath and her family. The story sounds unbelievable when revealed in all its gory detail. But we must not be like the well intentioned in Nazi-ruled Germany and simply dismiss the reports as unbelievable. Following conversations with members of the McMath’s life saving team and one doctor involved in the attempts to rescue Jahi I have learned first-hand of the depths of the depravity involved in this sad tale.

The sad thing is, I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time Nazis have been invoked in this story. Although I could be mixing up my Huckabee speeches.

This discussion has been over ever since thread #4.

To what? She is legally dead.

More physical deterioration of the body? Smells? Cardiac/hemodynamic instability? Organ failure?

If his lack of sleep has anything to do with Jahi's condition, I would see that as a positive direction for at least one member of the family. Deep thoughts, concerns, and soul searching are necessary here.

Of course, we do not know if his lack of sleep has anything to do with Jahi's condition. Just that he said he is not sleeping.

Uncle O says he hasn't slept in 2 days. It certainly makes you wonder if Jahi's status has changed.

He also posted that she is "alive and fighting" in the last day. I guess they still see her as fighting to survive...I would say the "ventilator and drugs are still preserving the body"
