Except it's not Marin. It's Marlin. And from the ebay descriptions it's "Caribbean" although I do get a hit on a restaurant in SF, even though I can't seem to find it.

I did the same search last night and found the same t-shirt from Kohls. I don't think the shirt that Joe Doe was wearing came from Kohls. The Sonoma life + style tee shirts have printed graphics while it looks like the one John Doe was wearing was embroidered.

Sometimes restaurants have t-shirts like that for their staff. I wonder if it's something like that.

So I called the restaurant and the man I spoke to says they DO, in fact sell a T-shirt with a fish on it.
Honestly though his english was no too goo and he told me to call back after 5 PM and speak with the manager. Pacific time. So 5 hjours, LOL

I have to be honest I don't think it's a restaurant or even a place.

I think it's just a design on a t-shirt. The reason is that ebay seller listed it as "Caribbean Marlin Joe's". I looked at her other auctions and she sells high end clothing. There is an expensive brand called "Caribbean" and they have all sorts of tshirts with ocean themed type stuff and other fake places that sound vacationy but don't exist. They have an embroidered name/fish in the corner and a bigger logo on the back.

The ebay seller was located out of North Carolina. But this brand is everywhere. The tshirt was most likely older and won't appear in any present searches (the video was discovered in 2012, who knows how old the tshirt is.)



Here is the listing title:

She listed it 4 times from May 19, 2013-June 07, 2013. She didn't sell it and didn't relist it after the last time it didn't sell. (per Terapeak, ebay research tool.)

Do out of towners call it MARLIN Joes by mistake? I know it's ma-RIN .

Nope, no one ever called it Marlin instead of Marin. Tourists sometimes mispronounce Marin by putting the emphasis on the wrong syllable (MAHrin instead of MaRIN) but I've definitely never heard Marlin.
