Great minds . . . I was just thinking about the seat covers. IIRC, Cindy went out of her way to describe them, and they didn't sound like they were wool. But we'll never know for sure what they were made of if they have disappeared. Once upon a time I had sheepskin covers for my front seats that were made of the tanned leather and natural hair (wool) of the sheep. They came in several colors -- cream, brown, black. The same material was also used to make seatbelt covers, which I think has been mentioned before.
Another thought. Someone earlier mentioned perhaps a black fabric to clean the car. Seems to me that I've seen cleaning "mitts" made of a wool or wool like material. Could Casey have had something like this in her trunk?

Comfortable Seats
Seat cover sheepskin is a natural insulator and will feel warm in the winter, cool in the summer. Sheepskin allows the air to flow between you and your seat, creating a natural insulation effect that will keep you at a comfortable temperature all year round. Sitting on sheepskin supports the body and reduces pressure points, allowing for maximum comfort even on long drives.
Durable Car Seat Covers with Protection from Sheepskin
Each genuine sheepskin seat cover has a leather hide with one-inch fleece. This creates a protective layer over your seats which will stop all dust, dirt and spills. These car seat covers are very durable and have been known to last up to 15 years on the same vehicle.
