Dawson was sentenced to life in prison, with a minimum of 18 years before he is able to apply for Fiji’s equivalent of parole.

I found specific sentence provision of section 237 of the Crimes Act displaces the general sentencing arrangements set out in section 18 of the Sentencing and Penalties Act, so I'm anxious to find Justice Hazma's Sentencing Order and will publish it.

I'm also reading that while Fiji may be a paradise, their prisons, not so much. Hope he's miserable and the parole board gives him no mercy. This was a brutal homicide. MOO
