By what I see on FB they apparently moved from OH, to FL. Perhaps the children were visiting the parents over the holidays and he didn't like it.

Just for the record, Lakewood is roughly 2 hours W/E from the state border, and roughly 4/5 hours from the southern border. Lake Erie covers the northern edge.

This is local news for me... a matter of blocks. Likely has family ties in the area, fitting what Steleheart has said.

This is the 1500 block of Norman Avenue, facing SSW. Couple of miles from I90, a decent distance from anything in Cleveland that would get him anywhere near Canada, if he was intending to cross the border.

That said, Jamie appears to have been from the area, so I'm not thinking that was the intent. This is not the greatest neighborhood — drug/robbery offenses aren't uncommon, sad to say.

I had seen reports that the suspect was seen digging a ditch with a child by his side but had not seen anything urgent about a child.
Now I feel better:
After getting a call from police in Florida about the suspect possibly being in Northeast Ohio, Lakewood police used information generated by an automated license plate reader to detect that the stolen car was located in Lakewood.

The man was arrested in the 1500 block of Newman Avenue in Lakewood, Ohio around 7 p.m.

The man's children, ages 2 and 3, who were located inside the residence
, were transported, uninjured, to Cuyahoga County Children and Family Services.

This sounds like a Jayme Closs case all over again. Except, this time they quickly made an arrest. I wonder if this Jamie is truly missing, or was also killed and he managed to bury her in the yard.

Lots of family background in this article:
Man arrested in Ohio is suspect in slaying of wife’s parents, brother at Tarpon Springs home

The wife, 21-year-old Jamie Ivancic, is also missing and may be the victim of foul play, police said.
JAN 4, 2019
TARPON SPRINGS —Tarpon Springs police have identified a couple and their adult son as

In addition, the couple’s daughter Jamie Ivancic, 21, is missing and may be the victim of foul play, according to police.

Well, that's not great. Port Richey is about half an hour north of Tarpon Springs.

upload_2019-1-4_17-43-25.png

Would have been very easy for him to take his wife north with him. Hard to say if she was alive at the time or not. Perhaps arguing in the car along the way, since he obviously had the children with him at this point — possibly he got sick of fighting and put an end to it?

I don't like to speculate too much. It does seem likely that she is no longer with us, though. Where and when along the way she perished is even harder to determine.

Man arrested in Ohio is suspect in slaying of wife’s parents and brother at Tarpon Springs home

Svendsen and Jamie Ivancic spent time in Ohio living with Zindroski’s sister, he said, helping care for Zindroski’s ailing mother. A former police chief, Zindroski said he was aware Svendsen had a troubled past and had spent time in and out of psychiatric centers.

Svensen's ex-wife, Kaitlyn Farahay, told the Tampa Bay Times on Friday that she last saw him on Christmas Eve in Ohio. He was driving a red SUV that he told her a cousin had bought for him in Texas, and he dropped off books for their daughter.

It was a rare visit, Farahay said. Svensen did not talk to her from the time his daughter was 2 until she was 4 or 5, and he did not pay child support.

“I think he breathes lies," said Farahay, 23. The two married in 2012, she said, when she was 17. She had gotten pregnant, but they separated just a month after the marriage. They divorced a year later, according to Farahay.

Svensen later married another woman, Farahay said, though she does not know Jamie Ivancic. Records in Florida show the two obtained a marriage license in Palm Beach County in November 2015. Svensen used the name Shelby John Neally, with two Ls.

Farahay said her ex-husband told her last year that his wife had killed herself. She also recalled him once mentioning his in-laws.

“He told me that he hated the brother and the parents are mean to him or something, but he never went in depth much," Farahay said.

UPDATED news article:
Man arrested in Ohio is suspect in slaying of wife’s parents and brother at Tarpon Springs home
JAN 4, 2019
TARPON SPRINGS — Days before Christmas, neighbors saw a thin man digging a ditch outside a home on Juanita Way with a toddler at his side.
[...]
Richard Ivancic, 71, Laura Ivancic, 59, and their son, Nicholas Ivancic, 25, had been killed Dec. 19 or 20, according to authorities. Detectives soon figured out that their daughter Jamie Ivancic, 21, was missing.

The thin man, they said, was her husband, 25-year-old Shelby Svensen.

They tracked him to Ohio, where on Thursday authorities arrested him next to Laura Ivancic’s SUV. He did not fight, they said, and later confessed to the slayings. Investigators took his children, ages 2 and 3, to the local department for children and families.

Svensen, according to records and two people who know him, is a shifty man who has married a number of times and goes by several names. He’s had run-ins with the law, including allegations of domestic violence, and has sought psychological treatment before. Tarpon Springs police identified him as Shelby John Nealy, but Ohio records show he changed his name years ago.

Jamie Ivancic was still missing late Friday, according to police. But deputies in neighboring Pasco County descended on a home in Port Richey with a forensic anthropology team, in an investigation they said was tied to Tarpon Springs. Someone had found a body.
[...]
Police have not said why they believe Svensen killed his in-laws or provided an exact timeline of the days surrounding the incident.

Investigators said they found transactions under his name at a GameStop in Palm Harbor and at a local McDonald’s and Home Depot. Tina Bartek, a store leader at the GameStop, said Svensen came in Dec. 16 — three or four days before the slayings — and received $100 in cash for about 20 videos. He had two children with him.

UPDATED: JAN 04 2019 02:40PM EST

PORT RICHEY, Fla. (FOX 13) - The search for a body at a home in the Bayonet Point area is connected to a triple murder case out of Tarpon Springs, deputies confirm.

Several Pasco County Sheriff’s Office crime scene vans, forensic units, and forensics anthropologists from the University of South Florida are at the home at 10930 Norwood Avenue, east of U.S. 19.

The view from SkyFOX showed investigators using what appeared to be ground-penetrating radar and small orange flags to search and mark the back yard of the home. The home and yard were cordoned off behind yellow caution tape.

Police: Man arrested in Lakewood admits to killing Florida in-laws in triple homicide; police searching for wife
JAN 4, 2019
LAKEWOOD, Ohio -- A man arrested Thursday by Lakewood police admitted to detectives Friday that he killed his mother- and father-in-law and their son at their home in Tarpon Springs, Florida.

Shelby John Svenson, 25, also known as Shelby Nealy, admitted to his involvement in the triple slaying to Tarpon Springs investigators at the Lakewood Police Department, Tarpon Springs Maj. Jeff Young said at a Friday afternoon press conference.
[...]
Police learned Svenson recently sold video games at GameStop in Palm Harbor, Florida, and made purchases at McDonald’s and Home Depot in Port Richey, Florida, Young said.
[...]
Tarpon Springs detectives were already en route to Cleveland when Svenson was arrested, Young said. They arrived around 12 a.m. Friday and interviewed Svenson, who admitted to his involvement in the murders, Young said.

Svenson did not provide any information to police about the whereabouts of his wife, 21-year-old Jamie Ivancic. She is the daughter of Richard and Laura Ivancic, and sister of Nicholas Ivancic.

Jamie Ivancic is missing under “suspicious circumstances” and is listed as an endangered missing adult, Tarpon police said.

Sheriff's Office: Search for remains in Pasco related to Tarpon Springs triple homicide
Updated: Jan 04, 2019 11:24 PM EST
PORT RICHEY, Fla. (WFLA) - After finding three dead bodies inside a Tarpon Springs home earlier this week, investigators believe there may now be a fourth victim.

Pasco deputies confirmed Friday that a home on Norwood Ave. in Port Richey has been identified as a place of interest connected to the Tarpon Springs investigation.
[...]
Neighbors tell News Channel 8 the house in question used to be rented by Shelby Nealy, the suspect arrested for the Tarpon Springs killings and his wife Jamie Ivancic, who is considered missing and dangerous.

After his arrest Thursday, police say Nealy confessed to killing his wife's mother, father, and brother.

Gwen Goins lives on Norwood Ave. and says police accidentally knocked on her door early Friday morning, confusing it with their address of interest.

"They're saying 'there's a body in your house,'" Goins recounted. She coincidentally moved to Port Richey recently from Ohio and cars in her driveway had Ohio plates. "They're saying 'it's buried in your backyard, or in your garage in the freezer.'"

"We do fear that she, too, is a victim of foul play," offered Maj. Young.

Nealy (Svensen) has been charged in Ohio with receiving stolen property for being in possession of Laura Ivancic's SUV. But he was also being held on an outstanding domestic violence warrant from neighboring Broadview Heights.

His two children, ages 3 and 2, were taken into protective custody after he was arrested.

Nealy has admitted to the murders, Young said.

"This has been an exhausting few days for everyone," Young added. "Our hearts go out to the family, friends, and loved ones of the Ivancics."

Investigators did not immediately suggest a motive for the crime but did say Friday that they believe the murders happened as far back as December 19 or 20. Neighbors told investigators that's about when they saw a man digging in the yard alongside a young child.

Meanwhile, deputies in Pasco County were searching the backyard of a home in Port Richey. A sheriff's office spokesperson confirmed that forensics teams were looking for a "possible body" in connection with the Ivancic case, but did not provide any more details.

They also said they never noticed obvious signs of trouble at the house when the couple lived there, but they say Nealy struck them as strange.

"I wasn't specifically shocked, I just kind of figured that something like this was doomed to happen," Hillebrand said.

"He didn't really let the kids out much. He was weird, you know, something was going on in his mind," neighbor Mike Stockdale added.
