Thanks, everyone. I really mean that.

There's still no news. I did speak with two detectives yesterday who came to Jane's house. However, the reason they were there is that I had become concerned the day before because I noticed a utility disconnect notice hanging on Jane's front door, and I called around trying to find out how to prevent the electricity from being turned off since no one has been in the house since the last officer left and locked the door. The PD wasn't aware that the house hadn't been attended to and the electricity was about to be cut. They were just here to confirm that it was true.

I did manage (with the help of others) to get the electric company to wait another month before cutting the power to the house so that it could be properly attended to first.

But still no news. I do know the investigation is ongoing, though.

I wish there would be some news in the Atlanta paper but nothing. Thank you for being attentive toward's Jane's home as with this heat and no electricity it could become a mold problem. The child deserves the right to any proceeds from the sale of this home and if it deteriorates than it will all be for naught. Is someone assigned to protect the interest of the child? Please ask if the court has done this as the asset of the home could be pivotal to his future.

I was hoping for an update to this case - really hoping the murder of this family is solved.

How are the boys doing? Have the utilities in the home been left on?

Such a sad, sad tragedy :(

There is no news. A detective came by today and spoke with me. He said they are working on this case 24/7.

And yes, the electricity will be on for another month. The water is with the city, and will be turned on as/if needed.

Some family came by this weekend, and though I wasn't home, my husband spoke with them and asked how Jeremy is doing. He said their faces brightened as they told him he was doing much, much better.

Thanks to those who have continued their interest. It is frustrating that for most except for those of us who live here, this whole case has simply been forgotten. :(

Tabby, I'm sure I'm not the only one who checks in here every day to see if there are updates.

It's just that I don't know what to say. The crime was horrific and so was the situation before it happened and the ironic burial plans, and you'd think it would be all over the news, but I have never seen anything at all.

But, don't think people are going to forget.

I'm still checking in too. I hope the person(s) who did this don't get away with it.

I'm also checking for an update.

Thank you Tabby for your information. God bless you.

Tabby, although the media and law enforcement may seem to have forgotten. There are still good folks out here and I know for myself, I think of you and this family every day. Please know that you and the family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Still thinking about Jane and her family. Hopefully, there will be some resolution to this case soon.

Getting in late on this thread; this is awful. We should be a nation where people are free of oppression and fear. A lot of people have given their lives for that end. Like you guys, I want these creatures brought to justice, if there can be any justice in something like this.
When I was in ATL we prided ourselves on getting along with those different from us, and I'm sure the feeling is still there. Hope the FBI can find these guys and they get what they deserve.
Thanks to the ATL folks who posted, esp those close to the house. That kind of input is invaluable and I can realize your anguish; events like this are life-changing for those close to them. I hope posting here makes your journey a little easier.

Atlantans aren't forgetting about this case. We are giving LE time to get the whole story. There is another story IMO. I just hope it is gearing up the northern US Marshall's Service ready to apprehend whoever did this as they are the best.

Just a quick update for those still following this case:

It was reported in local media last night that Jeremy and his cousin, both severely beaten in the attack that killed Jeremy's mother and sisters, have been released from the hospital.

There have still been no arrests in the case. :(

Thanks Tabby. I will not stop following this case, nor will I forget ....
Do you now if Jeremy will be staying with his cousin ? And do you know if they will be able to remain here ?

I have no idea. I wish I did know something, but I don't.

Yesterday I noticed that a screen was off the back of the house, up on the deck where it was on before, so I called LE to come and check it out.

A patrol car came about 20 minutes later. He drove up and got out of his car. I saw him as he looked into the garage, and then I walked over to speak with him, as I told the dispatcher I would when he arrived. I walked up in the driveway while he was standing by the closed garage doors, peeking in. I said, “Excuse me, Sir, I was the one who called.”

He said, “M’am, someone lives here.”

I said, “Uhhhm. No. No one has lived there in over a month.”

He said, “Well, there’s a car in the garage and one in the driveway. It appears someone lives here.”

For a moment, I was completely speechless. Then I said, “Did you know this is the home where a whole family was killed just a few weeks ago? NO ONE LIVES THERE AND NO ONE HAS FOR SEVERAL WEEKS.”

“Oh,” he said. “Well. I’ll check it out.”

He walked around the house and up on the deck where the screen was ripped off, and after about 5 minutes of “investigation,” came back and told me, “Everyhthing’s OK.”

This was a Cobb County officer. I simply could not believe he didn't even realize what house he'd been called to, especially since I told the dispatcher the house I was calling about and why I was concerned.:banghead:

I'll post again if anything new is reported.

Thanks, Tabby. I wonder how close they actually are. Seems to be a rather leisurely pace at which this is being done, however, perhaps LE are not tipping their hand. I sure hope that's it.

Pulling this up from the summer...but I wanted to update.

No, no arrests have been made, and sadly, this case seems to have completely dropped off the radar. I wish it weren't so. But I wanted to update for those who were interested.

Saturday my Husband and I were invited to Jeremy's 8th birthday party. Jeremy is doing so amazingly well! And he had a wonderful birthday. He attends rehab and has had a long road to healing with much still ahead, but he is such a determined little boy!

He recognized me and my husband right away, and came up and gave me a GIANT HUG! When a couple of his little friends asked him who I was, he said proudly, "That's MY neighbor!"

It is impossible for me to believe that this kind of slaughter can just occur and fade away. God bless Jeremy, Tabby and those working so hard to keep the momentum on this one. There must be a simple answer-passport checks, emails, cellphones records etc...would make it obvious if it were an honor killing, even though the perps may be gone.

That's a disgraceful way for a police officer to handle a scene! Not only was he not familiar with a well known case, he could have been trampling/messing up evidence unintentionally due to his lack of knowledge. arghh.
Thank you for whoever bumped this thread up before, i kept wondering if any progress was made on this..

I'm so glad Jeremy is doing well now. I'm disgusted by the way the officer handled the call.

I hope this does not become just one more cold case.

Tabby, print out your post here, and show it to the D.A. I bet they'd be interested to know that a policeman found evidence that someone was at that house weeks after the murders, and no investigation ensued!
