Is there any significance to the date (Valentines Day)?

After approximately 3 months of living with the Sneads, would NC have been able to consciously `hide` his mental health deterioration?

hi Kd, I will look. Its most likely in the earliest thread. I was one of the first to question the ‘kind gesture’ of both the Snead’s & Roxy. I took a step back to prevent clogging as more info surfaced.

To say that either of these families had the boys best interest in mind is unsettling. Hopefully that has been fully investigated and checked off for any type of funds they were looking to gain.

Its so sad that there hasn’t been anyone willing to step in and stop the exploitation. I can understand the reservation for the extended family of the boys-it’s messy, but it is just sad that even in this there is no infrastructure to speak of.

The Snead’s did say they saw the paperwork regarding funds. I will see what I can find.

The caller who left a tip for FBI claimed they tried to warn the family who took him in, leaving phone calls, but these phone calls were never returned. So it sounds like they didn't want to know.

Considering their son went/goes to the same school, him knowing that NC was not able to continue attending the school, he was not liked-was bullied by other classmates and more...lots more.

If someone is coming into your home that you know is depressed, Mothers recent death, has a few guns and says the previous homeowner ‘Roxy’ has taken $2900; that’s enough info to take a closer look at for everyone’s benefit.

Instead they say ‘you can come in but you have to get a gun cabinet first. You can keep it your room with a key.’

Most unbelievable was they did not look at his Social Media?! Guns and depression are a combination that call for naturally assessing the circumstances.

Their son was the last person NC texted before the shooting. “Yo”

I can attest to this as well. The custodian who works in my office is on the spectrum, and he is also diabetic. He is notorious for taking food that doesn't belong to him out of the fridge and consuming it as fast as he can so that no one will know it was him. However, he will leave the food alone if I attach a note with my name and explicitly state "do not touch" on it. But, everyone in the office has to keep a close eye on him during holiday work luncheons and things like that because he won't stop eating unless someone tells him to stop. We once caught him eating an entire container of cake icing with a spoon.

I am not on the spectrum but I have had days where the cake icing container was not safe from me.....

Was he aware his mother was an addict?
I dated an adopted man, and his mother constantly told him his birth mother was a "fat, ugly junkie."
She said this in my prescene when I asked about his birth mother. The conversation was brought up and I got to hear it with my own ears. His abusive adoptive mother was extremely jealous of the birth mother and would trash talk her any moment she could.

My best friend was adopted when she was a few months old, and unfortunately was a “crack baby”. She had to go throyfh withdrawals in the hospital as an infant. This was obviously told to her parents - I refuse to refer to them as her “adoptive parents- they are her parents. Sorry but I’ve seen Lynda referred to as “adoptive mom” far too many times on this thread and it drives me nuts. Anyway, my best friend knows her mom was a druggie for that reason. Her parents never, ever, badmouthed her biological mom. So NC could be aware his biological mom was a drug addict without his parents badmouthing her. JMO and just giving another perspective.

My hinky meter has been pinging all along when I 'sniff' comments from BOTH temporary homes he was in.

When the Snead's Atty. gave his first presser, he commented "There was no shortage of money with this boy".
He knew NC carried cash and had some income etc. So did the Sneads.

I'm suspect of the Deschamps home due to her past 'experience' w/ LE. And also the missing $2900.

There's no way I will believe NC was 'offered' a home in either place, IMO, unless these adults knew he could pay
his way, food, rent, clothes, etc. Neither home was rolling in money, quite the opposite. I'm convinced they thought
this vulnerable youth may be a cash cow for them. Sorry, for being a skeptic but people just don't take in young man
at a troublesome time in his life and not expect to have problems UNLESS he pays his way and you make something
off of him. Deschamps knew he was a problem child, she saw it as a former neighbor. Sneads claim they knew
nothing about NC. Bull hockey. Their son was a classmate, I''m sure he knew stuff. But Sneads told their atty.
'there was no shortage of money". I just don't buy their stories.

I read their son met him on Instagram and wasn’t a classmate. And even if he was, i don’t think it’s unusual these days for parents to not intimately know the details of their kids classmates. When I was a senior in high school, my best friend at the time (who was 18) was caught in a terrible custody battle and had drama all around. My parents took her in with the best intentions, never expecting any type of financial gain whatsoever. If she asked for help investing money, my parents would have absolutely given their advice and expertise. Sure, the Snead’s may have had bad intentions. But we don’t know that for a fact. Them saying they’d help him invest isn’t proof of them being scum bags JMO

Well, NC, had his problems but he wasn't DUMB. He knew RD had been messing with his debit card or bank acct.
He knew there was $2900. missing. And why did Mrs. S. excuse that? I thought that was odd.
NC probably did realize his life was upside down and the future wasn't looking so great and everyway he turned was
more problems, more trouble, more situations that in his child like mind he couldn't get out of the cycle.
He was a helpless little boy in a grown up body and had no one who truly cared to help him.

Can you post the source stating that RD was undoubtedly messing with NCs bank account? I’m still catching up and I think I missed it.

Meh. I think he was fabricating the 800k, and the Sneads believed him.

His mother repeatedly refinanced the house, and finally sold it in a short sale. If there was ever any money, it was long gone at that point.

Do we know if she had a life insurance policy? It’s been stated she was frugal with herself so she could give everything to the boys. I wouldn’t be surprised if she spent the couple hundreds bucks a month on a policy for the boys.

Honestly. I’m a childless stepmom, and that is heartbreaking. BUT, I don’t know the situation. However I do remember reading that Lynda and dad (his name is escaping me) met while they were both married. I may be mistaken, but if I’m not, I can understand why stepkids didn’t come to the funeral. I’m more curious about Lynda’s family. Did she have no one left? Why didn’t anyone on her side attend? I am also fortunate enough to not know how it works, arranging a funeral for a close loved one. Maybe she had family in NY but they weren’t notified of services? Who would have told them? Very sad. The pic of NC and his brother holding the urn is so sad. NCs facial expression is telling.

He seemed very off to me in the pic. Maybe I’m looking too much into it and it’s just an awkward pic in general. But his facial expression is off to me. I read that the pic was taken at the funeral... I can’t confirm that it was the same day as the funeral, but if it was.. both boys attire stood out to me.
