I don't believe for a minute he doesn't know the names of the streets in his condo complex, but last night I got out to look more clearly at a street sign at dusk. No, I couldn't read it from my car.

But I don't think that's what he was doing.

That's what Bill Lee says he was doing?

I believe it is a nationwide problem. We've had them here in Lee County, Florida with police and their children.

Oops, didn't see the murder part?? I have no idea about murder? But crimes? Yes. I also would like to know if at any time Zimmerman was being questioned by LE that night, if he called his father?

Yes murder. So you think that GZ's dad would call and say "I'm a retired Virginia Magistrate please don't investigate my son for murder just let him go home" and SPD say's "sure why not, it's just a homicide".

I guess anythings possible.

my bolding

No one, because the darker picture wasn't the original picture to begin with. that was disinformation.

How could the darker picture that ran on 3/22 be the original, when the lighter picture had already been run in several media outlets prior to that?

And how could a cropped picture be the original when the full picture was run in the media prior to that?

Answer, that darker picture was NOT the original.

It had already been in the media, here are but a few links that show it had already been in the media.

I don't think it matters at all which picture ran in the media first, a doctored one or an undoctored one. The darker one certainly looks less photoshopped and airbrushed than the lighter one.

BTW, when you look at the color of his skin in ALL the other photos, he's dark. So obviously the dark one is real, the lightened one is fake. Compare the darker hoodie photo to his childhood skin color, and it matches. He wasn't light.

with his obvious paranoia where everything a black boy does is strange and suspicious and dangerous? Like his statement that Trayvon was on drugs and up top no good and that there was "something wrong with him". Since he was sooo wrong about soo many other things why would I believe his characterizations of Trayvons activities?

Paranoya??
maybe, not sure about that.

Because I would like to see them? It really is as simple as that? I would like to know if pictures were even taken as part of the investigation? As a Florida taxpayer, I have a right to see them whether it be now or later? It will be public record? I guess I'll just continue to be patient and wait for them to be released?
I don't believe the sunshine law applies to active cases in most instances.

Any evidence should/will all be entered into public record after the grand jury proceedings.

For a second I thought I was on the wrong thread...had to scroll up and make sure I was on TMs thread and not in the sports forum.

There is hardly any evidence of any kind but
the more they want to hang GZ the more I look to see
what else is there to know.
we cannot hang someone without any evidence.

It is sad that a young man is dead.
And we still need information before we say the man is guilty.

BBM. That's fine. But I fail to see how digging up unrelated information on Trayvon is going to bring you answers. It only serves to put blame on a blameless victim.

Actually, I think it does, because those who are trying to attack the victim may go with the darker photo, because it's the stereotypical attitude that darker colored skin is more ominous! If Obama hadn't been 1/2 white, and had been darker, do you really think he would have been electable???

Yes, Dooley was arrested on manslaughter charges. jmo

After investigation and testimony from several witnesses, including the victim's 8 year old daughter, gave probable cause to suspect the shooting was unlawful.

Don't forget that he was not arrested for 48 hours while they were determining this. And that was a shooting in the middle of a public right of way, in daylight, with several witnesses that saw the entire encounter from beginning to end.

But not probable.

Somebody said, ages ago, that's why he got out of his car. I think it might have been his dad, I don't remember who said it.

That kind of bothers me too. If a person is shot in the chest, wouldn't they fall backward and land on their back? Hopefully at some point we will be able to see autopsy reports that will clear that up. IMO him being on his stomach could indicate that he was running away when he was shot. :moo:

Not necessarily. It was not a shotgun or magnum revolver , just a 9mm semi automatic. You do not die in one second. If he was standing up, grabbed his chest due to pain with both hands, staggered and felt forwards. Would explain his arms under his body.
There are no reports from witnesses that GZ was removing himself away from under Tray's body. And those witness accounts were pretty much instantly after they heard the shot. Plus I would have expect Tray to be on his back or side if GZ had to push him off. I would think that good forensics could determine if Tray was moved after being shot. Curious how his arms were positioned. All IMO of course.

with no weapons and an adult with a gun. Here, they just believed whatever GZ said. They never bothered to find out that Trayvon was legitimately in the complex, that he was walking home from the store, that all of GZ's conclusions regarding Trayvon were wrong. Even if they believed him that night, further investigation should have shown a murkier picture than what they concluded. I think race played a huge role here and led the drug cop to just believe whatever GZ said and buy the story of this drugged up kid up to no good that he had to shoot after being jumped by him.

Oh, really?

Then what does this mean?

Emphasis mine.

Oh, really?

Then what does this mean?

776.032 Immunity from criminal prosecution and civil action for justifiable use of force.—
(1) A person who uses force as permitted in s. 776.012, s. 776.013, or s. 776.031 is justified in using such force and is immune from criminal prosecution and civil action for the use of such force, unless the person against whom force was used is a law enforcement officer, as defined in s. 943.10(14), who was acting in the performance of his or her official duties and the officer identified himself or herself in accordance with any applicable law or the person using force knew or reasonably should have known that the person was a law enforcement officer. As used in this subsection, the
term “criminal prosecution” includes arresting, detaining in custody, and charging or prosecuting the defendant.
(2) A law enforcement agency may use standard procedures for investigating the use of force as described in subsection (1), but the agency may not arrest the person for using force unless it determines that there is probable cause that the force that was used was unlawful.

Emphasis mine.

I think it means exactly what it says: "A law enforcement agency may use standard procedures for investigating the use of force"...which the Sanford PD did NOT do.

How could they determine "that there is probable cause that the force that was used was unlawful" if they never investigated???

You can say that we haven't seen all the evidence or that maybe they did take pictures or take GZ's clothing, but it has been a MONTH tomorrow and I feel very confident (IMHO, JMO, etc.) that if any of those things existed, we would have seen them by now in an attempt to alleviate the frustration of and tension in the community.

WHY NOT?
i do

This was a condo complex, and he patrols it nightly. It's a condo complex. Despite the descriptions of a "gated community", it's a condo complex. I am NOT going to believe he didn't know the names of the very few streets within that complex, considering he patrolled all the time. My guess is he could draw a very detailed plat of the property, with building numbers and street names and other landmarks.

On the other hand, I believe the reports that he had a broken nose and if I were packing heat and somebody punched me in the face and broke my nose, they'd be shot. Until all the facts come out it's hard to make a definite decision but at this point I'm in GZ's court that this was self defense.

Yes, and that is why I will remain patient. April is almost here.

Maybe they could at least release a statement that pictures were actually taken that night? I think if we knew that there was actual photographic evidence, it might not make us speculate so much about a shoddy investigation?

Since the public isn't charged with trying to locate a missing Trayvon, which would explain a necessity to make his features as clear as possible to the viewer, it seems incredibly racist of whoever lightened him up in an attempt to make him look more "innocent".

I actually prefer the darker picture. He looks younger, and more boyish in that unaltered pic than he does in the altered whitened pic.

Really. I wonder who lightened him.

What has that got to do with this case????
