<modsnip>

I think we have had numerous warnings and the thread has been shut down a couple of times. Most of us don't want to see it shut down for good. Not meant to be snippy, just concerned. jmo

Seriously, only two weeks? Like that's supposed to be good? I find nothing commendable about this time line. Where I live people who kill someone generally get arrested and generally don't have the police chief make public statements defending them. Something is rotten in Sanford and now everyone knows it.

Here's a bit of the timeline which shows action only after family and public outcry:

And what is there to indicate that an investigation was not taking place? How long do you think a "normal" investigation with as much vagueness as this should take? Do you think that they should rush the investigation?

THERE NEEDS TO BE JUSTIC IN BEHALF OF TRAYVON MARTIN. YES!!!!

IMO GZ s actions should be investigated WHY HOW WHEN???
but the media, the likes of HEAVEY WEIGHT PUBLIC figures and
the mob lynch toward George Zimmerman are way over the top.
THEY SAW AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE MONEY MACHINE
IT IS NOT A RACIAL CASE

It is very possible that George needed to get an address and was jumped.
The fact that George acted overzealous does not make him an automatic killer,
IMO nobody need to carry guns, but he was in FLA where it is OK.
Could the gun have gone off? was it a horrific unintended situation??
WE DO NOT KNOW.

JUSTICE IS DIFFERENT FROM RVENGE!!!

Are street signs not visible from vehicles?? BBM

if Mr Zimmerman had stayed in his vehicle and waited for the police Mr Martin would be alive. This occurred because Mr Zimmerman chose to play cop and that makes him responsible for the death of a young man. Was it murder? to me no but definitely manslaughter. I do not think he intended to murder but he deifintely willfully used his gun in a positiion he had no business having a gun in. He knew the regulations for Neighborhood watch patrols, he chose this path. Now he must live it.

it saddens me greatly to see that a victim is now being attacked here.

BBM

Do you believe he should have taken his weapon off and left it in his car? Keep in mind the police said he was running a "personal errand" when he saw Martin.

I know you weren't asking me, but personally I think he should have left himself and his weapon in the car.

I can't think of how he landed in this position unless he was shot in the back while running away. Wonder why the autopsy hasn't been released? I find that suspicious. There is something that they don't want getting out there. IMO

ITA! For fear of a bigger outrage.

The way that Trayvon landed on his stomach with his hands underneath him is where my mind is stuck.

Where IS that autopsy?

Even if he was intent on observing and reporting from a safe distance?

Not if he was being pummelled imo

I don't think it's possible to get into a fight without some injuries which would show up on the autopsy. Again, we have to wait on it. jmo

Nonsense. A 9mm slug is bigger then any of those I listed except for the 50 cal.

Here's some information you may find helpful. The diameter of a bullet is only a part of the equation giving the "stopping power" of a particular cartridge. It's actually very complex. I usually don't care to use Wiki, but this one is pretty good.

Amen! I wonder if Zimmerman would have gotten out of the car if he didn't have a firearm...My guess would be no, but that's JMO

Yep. One can observe and report from a car. One can also wait in a car for police officers to come and do their job themselves. Especially when one calls them for help.

As I've stated before, it's possible that he was holding where he got shot. It seems to be fairly instinctual for people to grab an area where they get injured.

once he made that call to 911 he should have stayed in his vehicle. Having been through neighborhood watch training, he knew this.

I don't think that happened. I think Trayvon defended himself after feeling threatened that this man was following him and who know what GZ was saying to Trayvon! I think GZ positioned himself near the entrance so he would be there when Trayvon returned. GZ had a plan, IMO! The man needs a psych eval.

Also, GZ knew that neighborhood like the back of his hand. ALOT better than Trayvon.

He would know all the shortcuts.

and has been for days. It's really sad and it's also scary to me that people can actually find a way to blame a person for their own murder. I guess my life has been too sheltered.

Thank you. 9mm rounds actually have a reputation for having a poor relative "stopping power" (I actually dislike that term) due to their size and speed.

He would know all the shortcuts.

And street names. I wonder if he ever had trouble with the names of the streets on all his other 911 "emergency" calls...seems he knows the location of potholes well enough.

I think he was within his rights to carry the gun from everything I've seen. If GZ were attacked did he not have the right to defend himself?
