There is nothing to prove any of what you just said. They confiscated his gun, they took him to the police station, they interviewed him. No one can say for sure what extra evidence was collected, or what their witnesses substantiated.

They are convening the grand jury to determine if probable cause exists. Due process is simply being followed.

And you know, if they actually HAVE all this actual evidence that supports the idea that GZ was viciously attacked and was in fear for his life with good solid reason....WHY did they not make that evidence available to the family and others....could have saved themselves a great deal of problems

If the family and the public could be shown and were confident that a thorough solid investigation actually DID take place and that solid evidence that supports the self defense claim was there....there most likely would not be the media coverage that there is, but they have not shown anyone any kind of actual evidence beyond lip service that there is evidence and it makes people think cover up.....

How will releasing such items as pics of Zimmerman's injuries, etc, to the general public help Zimmerman? So he can be tried in a court of public opinion? I am sure, unless we are part of a potential jury pool, both Zimmerman and his attorney do not really care what we think. IMO thay only care what happens inside a courtroom.

I thought these types of cases were tried by a Judge?

Glad they're addressing the red jacket/white t-shirt issue. No way someone would confuse a t-shirt for a hoodie...

That makes absolutely NO difference.

Our awesome mods AND the owner of this forum have made it crystal clear that Trayvon Martin is the victim.

Please respect that.

I think it certainly does make a difference. There is doubt about who started the physical fight. Even Mr. Hornsby has alluded to that as a possibility.

Okay, whatever. Whoever said it, I don't think that's the reason GZ exited his car.

But I still back shooting someone if your nose is broken by them.

I guess that would empty out a lot of bars. My granddaughter had a volleyball thrown at her face deliberately. It hit her so hard it knocked her off her feet and caused a concussion. She has a rare blood disorder and had to spend the night in the hospital due to an internal bleeding scare. So does that mean she would be justified to shoot this other child? That type of thinking is crazy. jmo

Good thing we have neighborhood watch programs then. My neighborhood has a pretty good one, but then again, the mother of the Brevard County Sheriff lives here.

I live in a well-lit gated community and I would absolutely be scared of some man sitting in a car, watching me! 100%! Just because you live in a gated community doesn't mean we don't have crazy people living here? Just check the sexual predator database?

Aren't you the nurse? Please forgive me if you're not, but I have a question if you are?

How long would it take for a serious cut to the back of the head to heal so much so that a doctor says stitches are no longer needed?

Actually, there is no way someone would confuse red for white.

There is every way someone could confuse a nearly white hoodie for a white t-shirt.

The ruling of self defense may be. If it's ruled to not be self defense, there's still a jury involved. And there's also the grand jury.

There is no obligation to. In how many cases is key evidence released to the public before a grand jury takes place or indictment is even made? It's almost always made public record after the jury has been sequestered. Otherwise is just asking for a mistrial.

When I was in middle school, the girl standing in line for lunch in front of me accidentally elbowed me in the face and my nose bled. It hurt bad too! I let her live!

Do you have a source that says they did not sufficiently investigate this? Or is it all hearsay and suppositions not grounded in fact?

I mean, the media was saying for the longest time that they didn't even confiscate the gun.

It is my opinion (as I said in my last paragraph) based on numerous MSM reports.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/neighborho...s-questionable/story?id=15907136#.T2-7W46Q2KM

But after the shooting, a source inside the police department told ABC News that a narcotics detective and not a homicide detective first approached Zimmerman. The detective pepppered Zimmerman with questions, the source said, rather than allow Zimmerman to tell his story. Questions can lead a witness, the source said.

Another officer corrected a witness after she told him that she heard the teen cry for help.

The officer told the witness, a long-time teacher, it was Zimmerman who cried for help, said the witness. ABC News has spoken to the teacher and she confirmed that the officer corrected her when she said she heard the teenager shout for help.

And many more.

Yes. If she was alone with the assailant and was screaming for help and no one came to her aid. And she could expect to be further brutalized with no one intervening, as it appeared that night with the confrontation between GZ and Trayvon.

If she was on the volleyball court, with the audience and coaches intervening, not so much.

Sorry your granddaughter had her nose broken by an aggressive player. I hope the player was charged with assault. My oldest son was a soccer goalie in high school, and was fairly often kicked in the face as he bent down to grab the ball. I always wished those players who did that were charged with assault, as well as their coaches who told them to do it. There's no call to hurt a youthful sporting opponent.

Bolded added by me.

I have no link to verify the fact Zimmerman's father is retired, but as I remember reading, he also lives some where in Florida, so I hope he isn't still on the VA Supreme court payroll.

I keep seeing this fact brought up. Do you feel that it's just Sanford PD that gives breaks on murder charges to children of out of [RETIRED EVEN]state judges, or is this a nationwide problem.

I think I read where he lives in Florida now too?

Because I would like to see them? It really is as simple as that? I would like to know if pictures were even taken as part of the investigation? As a Florida taxpayer, I have a right to see them whether it be now or later? It will be public record? I guess I'll just continue to be patient and wait for them to be released?

Maybe the photos you ask for have not been taken yet.

Right.

But how about you went up to them and they attacked you.

I don't believe - for one minute - that GZ was the first to engage in physical combat.

Other than the nebulous claim that he had injuries....WHY would you believe that GZ, the person who was wholly invested in being the neighborhood watch guy, the person who was carrying a gun, the person who was determined to follow someone he thought was suspicious....would not be the one to first make physical contact? That makes no sense at all.

And it makes even less sense to extrapolate that the kid who did not know GZ, who was being followed, who by GZ's own admission was trying to get away, the kid who didn't even get off the phone with his girlfriend, the one who basically had no dog in the fight....suddenly without warning, turned into RAMBO and tried to kill a man with his bare hands....

I don't get it, one person shows by every bit of evidence that we have including his own words and actions that he IS aggressively chasing someone with INTENT....and I don't for one minute think that his pursuit was simply to find out where he was going, I think he wanted answers and I don't think that he was going to accept the fact that Trayvon was not stopping to answer them, and he was going to make him stop and give answers. IMO JMHO and stuff

Actually, there is no way someone would confuse red for white.

There is every way someone could confuse a nearly white hoodie for a white t-shirt.

How do you know that Trayvon's hoodie was nearly white? Link please?

Maybe the photos you ask for have not been taken yet.

Why wouldn't they have taken pictures of evidence of a homicide/self-defense claim? I would think that would be the first thing they photographed?
