Yes, that is what he'd be charged with and arrested under if he was not protected by 776.032.

I wonder why 776.032 doesn't appear on the report...

I agree. However, he did follow him and there was a fight - it easily could have been started by TM, which is what I think happened. I wouldn't expect GZ to start a fistfight when he's armed with a gun. Just because he followed TM does not mean he lost the right to defend himself.

YES he has a right to defend himself but I think he was overzealous.
If TM was in the least encourageable this pushed him.
I dont think he should just walk I can see a Negligent charge.
I hate that he went to the store with his gun...(oh ya that)

BUT WHAT I DONT KNOW is HOW DID IT GET TO THAT POINT?

Or maybe it's because it's still part of an active investigation and they didn't release it.

ALL of the 911 calls are still part of an active investigation...IMO

Why would it? That's the report of the first responders. They handed it over to major crimes, who would have made that determination.

But not all of them may have key evidence that could arguably sway a jury.

Official: Suspension wasn't for tardiness

By David Weber

<snipped>

"But Miami-Dade Public Schools spokesman John Schuster told the Orlando Sentinel that the school district "does not suspend for tardinss."

He also said: "No one has been suspended this year for tardiness at Krop."

According to the Florida Department of Education, schools are not permitted to suspend students for tardiness under a state law that spells out that "no student shall be suspended for unexcused tardiness, lateness, absence, or truancy."

Looks like some one is lying about why Martin was suspended. And people are claiming it's the SFD doing all the lying?

Does David Webber work for the sentinel? Or is it an opinion piece? I would like to email him and ask him some questions about that?

ETA: Also, could Trayvon have been suspended after missing detention from tardiness? Let's not immediately say someone is lying.

There's nothing in that article that says the witness saw TM attack GZ.

The witness says he saw TM on top of GZ. GZ could have attacked first and Martin maneuvered his way on top.

What do you mean? Of course he saw it - "The guy on the bottom who had a red sweater on was yelling to me: 'help, help…and I told him to stop and I was calling 911," he said.

Trayvon Martin was in a hoodie; Zimmerman was in red." Clearly he was attacking GZ.

Well I do believe that FCA will be sporting those "fisties" and getting ready to realease a new video diary - cause, ya know, heaven forbid she loose her spot at the top of the most hated person in America.

JMHO

**sorry - just trying to lighten up all of this - it has been getting to me tonight****

LOL!! Thanks for that and yes she will Wise Old Owl. I fully expect a new one any day now!!

Dang it! I had to stop reading the article when I read the second paragraph which was a total lie. Why would a fox reporter lie like that?

The night of that shooting, police say there was a witness who saw it all.
Why do you think it's a lie?

  • #591
Beautiful! Exactly like I said. Neraly white = grey.

Do you think "nearly white" = "dark"? Because GZ described it as dark.

So it's a bad thing he was overly cautious of a child's well-being?

He should have been just as "overly cautious" about another child's well-being---TRAYVON MARTIN'S. jmo moo imo

Yes, that is what he'd be charged with and arrested under if he was not protected by 776.032.

Then why wasn't Statute 776.032 listed on the police report?

Or maybe it's because it's still part of an active investigation and they didn't release it.

But they released all the other ones?

Nope, don't buy that.

A week long suspension for tardiness doesn't add up. When I was in school you might get a 3 day out of school suspension for fighting...maybe. Anecdotal to be sure but have times changed that much?

Does that say who started the confrontation? No, it tells you at one point during the scuffle, the guy in red lost his advantage...

I remember years ago my brother-in-law was in an accident when he was 17. He was in the back of a friends car that hit a tree and he ducked right where they hit the tree. While he seemed fine while LE was questioning him he suddently made some strange statements and LE assumed he was high on drugs, took him to jail and threw him in a cell where he lay throwing up for hours before someone finally got ahold of his father. My husband was with the PD then and he was called in about his brother being arrested. As soon as my husband saw him he yelled for a medic and knew his brother was not drunk or on drugs. (small town jail). He had a fractured skull and had to be rushed to the hospital. The arresting PD insisted he be drug tested because they were sure he was on drugs. His tests were clean. Better to have them checked out with a head injury, always. You just never know. jmo

When the police arrest someone and they have even minor injuries, it's probably best to take them to the hospital first. But what if the person is not under arrest? Can police forcibly take them to the hospital. And when they get there can they force them to undergo any testing?

Then why wasn't Statute 776.032 listed on the police report?

Why would a reporting officer make that determination, especially when they state they handed the case over to major crimes?

He had just almost died? Who would be thinking about the cost of an ambulance? He was bleeding from a serious cut to the back of his head? His nose was broken and bleeding? He could have had bleeding in his brain?

If he had no decent health insurance, he would be probably thinking twice about going to the hospital. :twocents:
