Hoping this precious little boy is found soon.

Local news says a new area is being searched today for Adji, but gives no further information. Lets hope this family gets the answers they need.

  • #45
I pray they get some answers soon too and find him soon and they don't have to wait not knowing where he is any more.

What a wonderful letter to the editor!!:)

Where is Adji?

Editor, Daily News:

I am writing regarding the missing-person case of 6-year-old Adji Desir.

I have noticed that he is receiving no media attention. Due to the fact that he is unable to communicate, it is critical that his face be kept in the public eye so that there may be some chance of someone recognizing him.

I can’t understand the lack of media attention in his case, while others who are missing are featured daily in print and television media. Is one child not as worthy as another? My own sister is disabled, and also cannot communicate, so this is tearing at my heart.

If there is any chance that he is still alive, wouldn’t it be beyond wonderful to help bring him home to his family?

"IMMOKALEE, Fla. - WINK News has learned the Collier County Sheriff's Office conducted a new search for missing six year old Adji Desir.

On Saturday Sheriff's Deputies did a low-key search in areas of Immokalee for the missing child."

Seems like after a few days this case went cold on Adji.
It's hard to believe in daylight NO ONE saw anything???
Kids didn't say anything? Le and no big searches?
Is it because he is slow, black and poor???
Everyday little children 'vanish'......we all need to care!
IMO

I know it happens every where, but that state sure has it's share!

Well I don't know about you guys - but I got very little response. Only one outlet sent me a canned response saying they would look into my request.

Kind of frustrating, but maybe something will happen especially with the new search.

Prayers for Adji and his family,

Salem

Well, I was thinking that when they got your emails, they may have called the Sheriff asking for news and maybe that nudged the sheriff into conducting another search. Or maybe not. But I know that your efforts and your positive thoughts and the refusal to give up does make a difference.

You are so sweet and these missing children are so blessed to have you in their corner.

Your post gave me an idea. I think I will email some alternative news agencies and some people like Al Sharpton. I am not a huge fan of the man, but his mouth is what Adji and other missing children of color need. I'm going to do a little research on the NAACP and such, local to Adji and see what I can do with that. I do think that the sheriff's office cares deeply and are color blind when it comes to missing children, but they need help, and they need people to care.

I had to blink my eyes hard when I saw this on my daily search just now, but I see I'll have to get up pretty early in the morning to beat y'all to anything!:D I'm just so happy to see something, anything at all being done for little Adji. I did email a detective at the sherriff's office a while back, but never heard a word back just like all my other emails, except for one I got the standard, we received your email response. Interesting side note....I am not very computer savvy, and let my son use my yahoo email to set up a myspace account a while ago. Well, I never look at my sent mail until the other day. Every email I've sent to anyone in who knows when has seen the impressive title of "Josh kicks butt" up by the addy. I have no idea how or why, but it's a tad embarrassing, when I've been trying to be so professional sounding. :blushing::blushing:

Oh, Patches! That just makes your efforts even more priceless!

I did a double-take myself this morning when I stumbled across the update, but I did run as fast as I could to get the news here to you guys as the wait has been way too long! Hats off to those that sent in your letters, it never hurts to let them know that people are watching and waiting.

For my part, thanks Patches and RiverRat, When I read your posts I just sat down and cried. I feel so angry and so sad when I think of this little fellow. The situation is heartbreaking. To know that someone is still looking is wonderful. I ask so many people if they know about little Adji and so far only one person here in my hometown has said "I think so". Makes me wish I were rich so that I could put fliers EVERYWHERE!

I know just what you mean. That little face..oh man. I have come to this thread wanting to post something and just couldn't, I've felt so sad. Today is a little bright spot, and hopefully a good sign of things to come. I'm glad to be among you sweet people on this thread. I think every one of you would be there beating the bushes if you could, as would I. I love your "waiting for Adji" banner, btw.

Salem, I understand that frustration but I agree with Gracenote that little taps on their shoulders are good for nudging and nudging gets things done sometimes. At least it is a reminder.

Teehee, Patches... "Josh kicks butt" would certainly grab my attention if it showed up in my email box! Hey, professionals can be human too! *wink*

Smart thinking Gracenote! I agree with how you worded it too... Sharpton's mouth is what little Adji and other missing children of color do indeed need!

Upon writing that, I'm a bit shocked he hasn't already been heard from regarding Adji in particular!

Let us know what you find as far as contact info and we can all do that tapping on the shoulder thing again!

You are so sweet and these missing children are so blessed to have you in their corner.
