His Facebook- to me -was . Anyway I think 20 years in prison was a lot-because the Subway guy had sex with minors and possession of and he got 15 years.

I think in Jorge's case it may involve many children and a much younger in age than Fogle's victims were. If the victims are under the age of 12 the perp gets a stiffer sentence.

The man suspected of involvement in the disappearance of 9-year-old Fort Myers girl Diana Alvarez made his initial court appearance Monday in Fort Myers.

Jorge Guerrero spoke Spanish and had an interpreter during the 10-minute hearing, in which he was charged with possession of child .

He faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a maximum fine of $250,000.

I'm hoping they'll be able to find some secret communication between DA and JG. I think he promised her a trip to Disney world or something like that... and had a plan for when and what time Diana was to expect him. Poor little trusting angel.

No mention was made of the missing girl in court.

A prosecutor asked that Guerrero be held without bond as a flight risk, and Guerrero's attorney said he'll probably be held in the Charlotte County Jail.

Guerrero was taken into custody over the weekend in Okeechobee County, but there was no sign of Alvarez, who's not been seen for more than a week.

Jorge Guerrero-Torres, the person at the center of an Amber Alert for Diana Alvarez, faced a federal judge Monday on child charges.


Federal prosecutors allege that multiple images of child were found on a phone associated with Guerrero-Torres.
Authorities have not said if the charge is related to Alvarez, 9, who remains missing.


Guerrero-Torres, 28, remained in the Lee County jail Monday with no bond due to an immigration detainer.

Investigators from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office were first notified of Alvarez’ disappearance on May 29 after her mother found her missing from their home on the 3500 block of Unique Circle near San Carlos Park.


Guerrero-Torres and his brother had recently moved from the home, according to court documents.
Family members have said Alvarez was very attached to Guerrero, who at one time rented a room in their home at the Sheltering Pines Mobile Home Village.
Detectives talked with both men. Guerrero-Torres said he moved to Orlando and gave investigators his cell phone number.


Phone records showed Guerrero-Torres traveled from Orlando to the Fort Myers area on the day before Alvarez was reported missing. After leaving Fort Myers during the early morning hours of May 29, the phone was tracked to Okeechobee, then toward Yee-Haw Junction, then back to Okeechobee before returning to Orlando, court documents said.


“Records confirmed that at the time Guerrero-Torres’ cellular telephone was in the area of (Alvarez’ home), there was communication between the cellular used by the household residents, including the minor child, and the cellular phone admittedly utilized by Guerrero-Torres,” documents said. “It appeared the content of the message was deleted from the cellular telephone.”

I interpret this to mean that JG communicated via cell phone WITH Diana.
And I am guessing that the time of that communication was quite late, based on the 2nd sentence, though her mother covering her with her blanket at 2am wouldn't necessarily qualify as hearing from her. Even if that sighting of her doesn't count, it sounds like they were communicating after Diana had gone to bed.

I'm expecting that we will hear about texts between the two of them with him telling her where to meet him, and her going willingly.

I just cannot for the life of me imagine that a child who is close to her siblings would not be acting weird, knowing she was going to leave with someone. Hugging more or saying something out of the ordinary before bed that night. As an adult, I would have a hard time pretending everything was as usual if I was leaving home the next day. I can imagine how hard it was for a child. Maybe she was just supposed to go outside to see him and didn't think she was leaving. How did he get in touch with her to tell her the plan? Still so many missing pieces.
