It does not matter if it is rich arms or poor arms that hold a child with love. It doesn't matter if it is a rich man or a poor man who sings his child to sleep.
Like flowers need sunshine & water to grow, children need love.

I live in very very nice home, live a very comfortable life. We are blessed, we are educated & have never gone to bed hungry or had our lights cut off.
We have friends who are country club members ( we are not ) and friends who live in single wides. Friends who are white, black, mong, indian, asian.
Different back grounds, different religions, different education levels. RIch doesnt equal good nor does poor equal bad. I know docs who use drugs, my best friend who lives in a double wide would never touch the stuff.

I am not bothered by the economic status of the family, I understand the life style. I am only bothered by what I view as some poor choices to have around children. If we aspire to have our children to do better than we have, let's set them on the right path. You don't have to have money to do that. :blowkiss:

I want to think this is an abduction but there is this voice in the back of my head that says the police are not responding and searching in a way that indicates they believe she has been taken by a stranger.

Yes, I have that voice for the same reason, I wonder about family members on Misty's side of the family.

I have never seen anyone get away with as much as he has, that's for sure.

I think the circumstances under which Haleigh went missing and the "stories" are suspicious.

But, being a lawbreaker doesn't mean you would kill. There is no motive. Haleigh was a financial asset.

I can see either the father OR the girlfriend losing their temper. IF the backdoor was usually deadbolted, people from the outside couldn't plan-in-advance to break in.

In my other posts I make it clear I in no way thing it was the dad. I was referring to other topics surrounding the case that was beating a dead horse so I've moved on.

The father doesn't appear to be a mature 25 year old either. Kids raising kids. Sadly, it happens alot in our world.

The mother is 23 thus making her 18 when she had Haleigh. I believe the police report has her age wrong. All of her myspace info says she's 23 and her 23rd birthday party is on her myspace page. I don't believe she "made up that age" and alot of things on that police report were not accurate so this could have been another one of their mistakes.
As far as the father...I do believe the age of consent in FL is 16. And I don't think this really has a bearing to this case. Lots of 17 year olds are with older men and lots of 17 year old babysit.

Although I find it gross, I'm not going to condemn him to hell because he's with a 17 year old.

I got married at 18 and had a kid at 19 my first husband was 25. I was poor. I was a dang good mom then and am today. Remarried after 20 years... have a career... live in a city and am comfortable financially. The age has nothing to do with it really. My grandma married at 14.. my mom at 19. Means nothing.
I am now a mother again at age 44 to a 3 year old. Am I a better mother today? I am more patient but have a lot less energy. My oldest turned out GREAT! Would I tell people to wait.... yes. But like these kids.. it is all you know. All I knew at age 18 was to clean house and care for kids so that is what I did. Only until the kids got older and I got smarter did I long for bigger and greater things.

Eisenbergs were older parents.. Polly Klaus had older parents. Lunsford had older parents.. Age or income has nothing to do with this case.. JMO

When my mind wanders to this scenario I wonder if it was a get even with the dad he would have done something to the boy too at least. What would they have to gain by kidnapping the daughter and not just taking revenge right then and there? That's the too much movie watchin in me.

Yeah, One of my favorite sayings is “Know where you’re going and remember where you have been”. Keeps it on in perspective.

Wonder if he really thinks he has no enemies if... if he did some informant work for LE. Some how I don't think he is that stupid. Book learning he may not be good at but street smarts he's got as long as he can keep his temper from clouding his intincts.

This is not something that we will hear about from LE either. According to what went down at the time there could be alot of people that took a fall.

I still have a problem with the fact that the next day he was online on myspace playing games and bought Crystal as his pet He didnt seem to upset. His mood was worried but like I said before, worried about what? Hayleigh? Him going to jail?

BTW, I have not seen him come to town to help search for Hayleigh or to support his gf, ie; the mother of his child. Instead he was online again the following day buying Crystal once again, probably played mafia wars too.

Had that had been me hearing that..I would have looked at that person and let them know that if it were his/her child, I would still take the time out of my day to look for the child.
I can't see the other side of words such as that. That is exactly why we need more Tim's out there in this world..because he knows that there is just as big of a chance of being found than not...

Where to affect change? We all need to be the example for our children. We can't tell them to not drink & drive & then let everyone at the family bbq get faced. It's not do as I say, it really is do as I do.

When did we get afraid to get tough with our kids? I was NOT my daughter's friend when she was a teen, I was her mother. To her, I was the biggest B on the earth. That was okay. I often looked at her, told her in clear words what the rules were & that as her mother I refused to bury her as a result of a foolish action, her's or someone else's. Now, she is grown, with 3 children of her own. We are in fact best friends, now we can be. I can finally be her friend, confidont & her mother. I love all 3 roles.

We are so busy working, doing scouts, ball, ballet etc that we don't talk at the dinner table. We don't volunteer together, if we volunteer at all. There are only so many hrs in a day, so many in a wk. We all need to do something, like volunteer to help others, to show our children it takes all of us to care.

The only positive that might come from such a down economy, is it is much harder to afford all the activities for the kids. It just might us take a walk in the park or sit on the porch swing and talk. That can be a blessing. :blowkiss:

thank-you for your words. i agree completely with what your saying the role of a parent should be toward their child during youth. When you volunteer together as a family, not only are you "paying it forward", in our experience it makes us that much more grateful for our lives together. I also think it helps to teach your child empathy, when they are given Everything under the sun, and don't give back they develop a sense of entitlement. sorry for going so ot

I doubt a drug dealer would take a child, they wouldnt want her. They would come after the dad if theres revenge involved.
Dont know who was responsible, but I dont buy the girlfriends story at all, and I think the secret lies with her.
They need to pressure her.
