Does anyone know if the mobile home/trailer where Haleigh went missing from appeared to have been cleaned prior to LE coming to investigate - I mean bleach smell, wet/damp floor/walls, etc.????

  • #282
Oh lord.

The name of the owners of the home (315 2nd Ave, Satsuma) that Donald Sapp (SO) lives in (and moved into on 1/26/2009) is owned by

Griffis Jeffrey Michael + Billye

Same last name as bio-mom's boyfriend and mother.
Hmmm...Where did you find this? Did we already know this and I missed it, too?! (banging my head against the wall now) Ugh! I just cannot keep up and work at the same time!!

If so, they have not mentioned it. However, since LE took the blanket and sheets outside to get a "mark" for the dogs without mixing scents from the house...could very well be the case, huh? :waitasec:

This is from the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Things to think about in regard to Haleigh wetting the bed.
1. Turner's does effect the kidneys, she could be more prone but bio-mom says she doesn't wet the bed. Something to look into would be a recent medication change which could trigger this.
2. Sexual abuse, although the odds are low
3. Her life has changed recently, new home (I believe) and Dad's new gf is now a care giver. Which could be very stressful, rule changes, lifestyle changes whatever.
4. Or it could be nothing, new gf is not used to having kids, allows Haleigh to drink a lot before bedtime not realizing that she should limit liquids.

Bedwetting

No. 18; Updated November 2002

Most children begin to stay dry at night around three years of age. When a child has a problem with bedwetting (enuresis) after that age, parents may become concerned.

Physicians stress that enuresis is not a disease, but a symptom, and a fairly common one. Occasional accidents may occur, particularly when the child is ill. Here are some facts parents should know about bedwetting:

Approximately 15 percent of children wet the bed after the age of three
Many more boys than girls wet their beds
Bedwetting runs in families
Usually bedwetting stops by puberty
Most bedwetters do not have emotional problems
Persistent bedwetting beyond the age of three or four rarely signals a kidney or bladder problem. Bedwetting may sometimes be related to a sleep disorder. In most cases, it is due to the development of the child's bladder control being slower than normal. Bedwetting may also be the result of the child's tensions and emotions that require attention.

There are a variety of emotional reasons for bedwetting. For example, when a young child begins bedwetting after several months or years of dryness during the night, this may reflect new fears or insecurities. This may follow changes or events which make the child feel insecure: moving to a new home, parents divorce, losing a family member or loved one, or the arrival of a new baby or child in the home. Sometimes bedwetting occurs after a period of dryness because the child's original toilet training was too stressful.
Parents should remember that children rarely wet on purpose, and usually feel ashamed about the incident. Rather than make the child feel naughty or ashamed, parents need to encourage the child and express confidence that he or she will soon be able to stay dry at night. Parents may help children who wet the bed by:

Limiting liquids before bedtime
Encouraging the child to go to the bathroom before bedtime
Praising the child on dry mornings
Avoiding punishments
Waking the child during the night to empty their bladder
Treatment for bedwetting in children includes behavioral conditioning devices (pad/buzzer) and/or medications. Examples of medications used include anti-diuretic hormone nasal spray and the anti-depressant medication imipramine. In rare instances, the problem of bedwetting cannot be resolved by the parents, the family physician or the pediatrician. Sometimes the child may also show symptoms of emotional problems--such as persistent sadness or irritability, or a change in eating or sleeping habits. In these cases, parents may want to talk with a child and adolescent psychiatrist, who will evaluate physical and emotional problems that may be causing the bedwetting, and will work with the child and parents to resolve these problems.

Snipped by me. I believe Dad was the one who started the custody and paternity stuff as he was the petitioner and bio Mom was the respondent?

Yes, the petitioner is the one who initiates the court proceeding. But in paternity cases, a lot of times alleged fathers will bring a suit to officially say they are NOT the father - so then the mom can't keep accusing them, and they can even get a restraining order (if it gets that bad).

If the alleged father finds out after years of thinking he was the father that the mother cheated on him during the period of conception, sometimes he'll petition so he has a legal right to stop supporting the child (if its not his).

Never a pretty situation, IN THOSE CASES its always the child who loses out :( (not saying that happened here- but its a possibility)

as far as Misty loving kids and kids loving her..........
well I can see even the best of kids when mad saying..............
you are not my mom and I won't do it!
4-5 months bonding yet?
Did they date awhile before Ron and GF moved in together?
Was the bio mom, might of said 'gf is not your mom, don't listen to her?
Why at the age of 5 did Haleigh START peeing bed???
Was she being molested the last few months before this???

my highlighted. You see, this is classic signs and symptons of sexual, physical child abuse. A child once potty trained regresses back to bed wetting. We have two peope bio mom and gm stating the child didn't bed wet and hadn't for years. That's a substantial long time in the life of a 5 year old.

Looking at mIsty's pic at the vigil, we, Ron nor does anyone else know this girl at all. No one knows what this girl is capable if and when left alone with a young child up to this point in Misty's life. For she's never had a child, or been responsible for one. A potential serial killer, abuser could be in her make up (mo) and this is the early first signs of it. Her only being 17 is far too young to have a substantitated past to analyze in her life as far as past behaviors are concerned.

We all know abuse breeds abuse. We know Misty was sexually asnd physically abused, and we know it was horribly according to the report we were able to uncover with the charges. For this guy to get 8 years, and remember he was young too, it had to be violent.

We could very well have the making and recipe of a killer on our hands and this is her first strike. Certainly won't be the first time. Maybe the last though as forensics and investigative tools and techniques have come so far than in yester years are concerned. She could be very very cunning for all we know. Women have killed their lovers children before. I know this is far out there, but I'm just saying no one knows Misty, we don't know how or what makes her tick tock!!!

I still think it's "possible" a SO was introduced in the house by Missy, either because she was "naive" or because she was buying drugs.

when misty talked about washing the blankets she also said she had been cleaning. this was when asked about what happened/what she did that night.

IDK She seems to have a healthy respect for her man and his temper. Possibly his gun too.

She's hardly more than a child herself. Does he seem like someone a child would sneak around on? Intimidation works wonders on young'uns.

If Haleigh caught her with someone or doing something, since the bio-mom says the kids like her; wouldn't it have just been easier to remind Haleigh of how we don't want to make daddy mad?

I personally do not see her as that young because of all she has been through. She more than likely grew up pretty fast. As far as reminding Haleigh about Daddy's temper...I don't think the kids got that from him. However a bf...well he might know that temper and figure it's safer without Haleigh in the picture.

Misty said she had been cleaning that night....another flag for me when I heard that.

I just saw this quote from TM:

"At times I think the most success we could ever hope for right now is to find her little body," said Tim Miller of EquuSearch. "So that there's some closure and law enforcement will have another area to search."

Does TES know more than we do at this point?? :( Sorry if this has been discussed, I can't keep up

if she had another lover i would think they would just stay at ron's trailer. couldn't be more convenient than that. unless they wanted to go to a bar/restaurant or be with other friends or a certain party or get-together. unless they were worried about children seeing him and telling dad.

when i first heard that her brother lived right behind them, i pictured her partying over there and maybe someone at the party decided to "leave" and snatched the girl knowing she was home alone. i even wondered about the brother being a suspect. he would definitely be familiar with the trailer and the dad's working hours. but then i found out that misty's brother is married with several little kids of his own and am not sure that they'd be partying over there on a monday night. also, i'm sure he was one of the first people that ron and misty and the police talked to.

friends or family are the ones who would know if ron or misty are acting strangely or could know more information about that night, but they are also the ones who might try to cover up for them..... most people wouldn't try to cover up for someone when an innocent child's life is a stake, though.

perhaps she visits this man's van w/ him and takes a blanket???

From following cases for a long time a few things I've noticed are:

Guilty people over explain and offer up answers before the question is asked.

Blankets and rugs have a tendency to disappear the same time a missing person does. This is usually because there is evidence of foul play on them or the body is wrapped in them.

Laundry is done to wash away evidence. It's not unusual for LE to show up to take a missing person report and find the washer or dryer on, or a load of wet laundry. Freshly mopped floors, etc. If someone was missing, the last thing on my mind would be doing laundry and cleaning house. Heck sometimes LE shows up and the walls are freshly painted.

Great post, SuziQ! I'm sure this is why there is so much discussion here about these points. Nobody wants to think that this family had anything to do with Hayleigh's disappearance. Unfortunately it happens everyday. Each of us has to sleuth in the direction we feel the evidence leads us.

This is exactly the way LE investigates. They aren't sentimental about things. They can only go where the facts lead them.

I figure that Misty is very simple plain folk (not an insult in any way shape or form) I have met plenty of people like this and even have some in my own family.

My take on Misty? She's young yes. She might be naive she might be emotionally immature but she's not stupid...she's stupid like a fox if she's like the people I have known.

Is she afraid of him? Might be. I don't think that would keep her from falling in love or having a lover in another man. Would she stay at Ron's trailer with this man? I doubt it. She's not that stupid. If she got caught messing around Ron would probably tear her a new one. If she got caught sleeping with another man in his home or bed...he might kill her. I bet she knows his limits what she can do and get away with.

As for trusting that Haleigh wouldn't tell Daddy if she had caught her and the man somehow. Even though she says that the kids thought of her as a Mom, she's not their Mamma. She has only known them for maybe 5 months? Cared for them for 4 months? In my mind, she wouldn't use that unless Haleigh herself was afraid of her Daddy's anger and what it can bring.

So for today, or this hour actually, I'm leaning towards a lover and not getting out of the house to be with friends. Either Haleigh saw them and the man did something to the child and Misty was witness...hence her "I covered her with a little sheet" comment and tears.

Or, she and her lover were out in the area, or in her lovers car/truck and she propped open that back door and when she came home Haleigh was gone.

The reason I'm going with this is because it is the most simple answer to why she might have not been in that house. But it's just my thoughts as of now and I am probably wrong:)

Haleigh Will Miss Little Brothers Birthday

Haleigh Cummings with her dad Ronald

SATSUMA, Fla. -- A day meant for celebration, has now become a day filled with fear for the family of Haleigh Cummings. Today is Haleigh's little brother Ronny Cumming's fourth birthday. There is still no sign of Haleigh six days after she was reported missing from her Putnam County home.

Search crews have begun day six of the search for the 5-year-old girl. The Putnam County girl was last seen Monday night when her father's girlfriend says she put the girl to bed.
