imo...

Misty was out to lunch.

She either was not home when Haleigh was taken...

or... she was high as a kite when she went to bed and can't remember where she fell asleep.

or... she knows who did it and is covering up for them.

And I think she is mostly scared that Ron doesn't kill her with his gun. She is no stranger to domestic violence.

I would look at the brother first.

Oh, and I would stay away from the pastor of the baptist church. He's Kyle Johns' father.
Somewhere earlier - it was posted that dad attended church regularly with Haleigh and that she was part of the children's ministry - could this be the link? IF KJ's father was the pastor .........

Can we find out what church dad and Haleigh were attending?

YES! It would be helpful if LE were being more cooperative with us. Don't they know they're killin' us here?!
Won't the Sunshine Law come to our rescue pretty soon??? :)

Is it possible Misty is afraid of her brother, and doesnt want to tell on him?
Could she be afraid that if Ron finds out, not only will Ron do something to her brother, her entire family will not like Ron much anymore.
And, finally, Ron will not want Misty anymore if someone in her family did it.
Note she hasn't said anything such as "this afternoon, my brother, timmy/tommy and his friend fred, bob, or whatever came over with the kids....
.... I have felt from day one that Misti is covering for someone but is not sure about their involvement. If this is so, I hope that her love for Haleigh is stronger than protecting this person.

Early in the evening that Haleigh went missing, there were family members and children playing at the home. One of them could have unlocked the rear/side door. Misti could have forgotten to check this door before bed time.

In the Lunsford case, an unlocked door was how Couey was able to enter the home.

Is anyone watching NG? There is no thread started on Caylee's forum so I assumed she wasn't covering her tonight.

Please help, I have my 3 boys in the bath and I can't leave them to watch TV, they'll drown each other!!!
She's on, it's pre-recorded and showing "Raw & Uncensored: Tot Mom in Jail - Part 3" (video of jail visits). :)

Here is my thought..
I think she was there the entire time. I think that when asked about the events, she would have inserted something about what they were watching on TV that night, if they did homework before she put them down to bed, what they ate, or what time they had dinner. Everything in Misty's statement started at 8pm, yet she had family over until 5:30 ish..so what happened in between those times?

I think we would all like to know that answer to that question! You're right though certainly with children - time of dinner, what was for dinner are two questions at the least that should have been offered.

We all know how these news articles are but i read that the parents did have a birthday party for Jr. and also that Ron has been going to church for the past 3 years and that Haleigh was in the childrens ministry.

not until there is an arrest, until then it is just an open investigation

i don't think so because i thought misty said she didn't have her blanket the night haleigh went missing or before the police were ever involved.

Right, she said it in a stream of conscious kind of way in direct response to "what happened that night". It's very near the beginning of her explanation. I just don't see how she could be talking about the police van taking it.

Yes, I have it on, but its a repeat about Caylee. Nothing new. Old jailhouse tapes.

It just seems to me that Misty wanted them to know her whereabouts and what she was doing during those hours of 8-10, however never said wether either child got up while she was awake to get a drink of water, or go to the bathroom or anything.
And the failure to say what they were doing between the time the family left until bed time is weird too! Did Haleigh take a bath? Did she dry her hair for her?

did she let someone with this van take Haleigh somewhere, they came back and said something went wrong, and here we are with a kidnapping, maybe someone else pieced the evening events together for her and that is why she is all over the map

In families where sexual abuse has gone on for generations (not saying it has in Misti's as I don't know) it is not uncommon for victims to be around their abusers for years, and then to bring their kids around too. It is part of the cycle, and what is considered normal in that family dynamic. Don't say anything, don't rock the boat, he didn't mean it, he was drunk, it was your fault, it will kill grandma. The list goes on.

It really takes someone breaking that cycle and saying no these people will not have access to my children. It is difficult to do because you frequently lose the rest of the family too, not just the abuser. It makes sense since they were the same family members that didn't want to rock the boat to deal with the issue in the first place, they aren't going to take heat to see you.

You are correct.

I just had a terrible thought but it goes along with the reason the cycle continues and seems to run in families

Could Misty have been allowing someone to take Haleigh out of the home for sexual abuse? That little tidbit that Misty supposedly told Geritol's brother about the cousin who 'messed' with her when she was 13 could be Misty giving little clues as to what happen to Haleigh without saying what happen to Haleigh.

I am just looking at how possibly the family dealt with or has dealt with this type of thing before could effect how Misty would perceive abuse to Haleigh. In some cases, as long as it is happening to some one else and not me is enough to keep them from saying anything if it is 'normal' in your family.

Pure speculation on my part.

But here's the thing, we all keep thinking about her TV interviews as "statements" and in reality we don't have her statements to the police. She very well may have said in her real statement what they had for dinner and the names of who visited. The thing is, we just don't really KNOW and it's driving us all bonkers!
