My understanding is she washed Haleigh's, and Misti's blanket is in the van.

Misty also claimed that she had to wash the blanket that was covering the window and Hayleigh's blanket because it smelled like urine.

The blanket story reminds me of a hot potato game. Sorry O/T:)

it might be, but they did say that the evidence they found on the search turned out to be nothing or unrelated. i guess they could have lied, but could the defense in the trial hold it against them that they lied? wouldn't that hurt their investigation?

I wondered if they disregarded what they found in the woods because it was not what Haleigh was supposed to be wearing, and that led them to question further and now know they have no idea what she was wearing. So now the unimportant find from the other day, may now well be important?

I haven't reasearched the area, MeoW333. Does this mean that the reported last sighting (per Misty) is in question?

This is my question as well. How did the last known location change? Isn't that LE saying everything Misti told them is a lie? She wasn't at the house and she wasn't wearing what was described? And how do they know that now, did Misti change the entire story or did someone else provide this info?

A short story with a point;
I lived in an apt complex and one night I heard a window crash, as though someone had thrown something through someone's window. I peeked through the blinds and while I couldn't see anyone, though I did see the light go on in the apt across the parking lot, and the blinds all ascew. I heard three loud stomps. Then I saw a dome light come on and was able to see that it was a truck, but I couldn't see the license plate.
The police soon arrived and I went out to tell them what I saw and heard, but by the time I got done talking to him, and answering his questions, I went from thinking there was one person, to thinking there were two, at which point the LEO decided I was pretty worthless as a witness and dismissed me. lol
So, in the heat of the moment, you're actually trying to collect your thoughts, what you heard, what you saw, but once people start asking you questions, you begin to doubt, or confuse what actually occurred.
Thus, I also don't think Misty is lying as much as the trauma, stress, being under a microscope, being asked a bizillion questions by a bizillion people who question whether it was 3 inches she was away from you, while the kids dad is saying No, not three inches, and pretty darn soon you just want to go hide in a corner, and be left alone. Though a 17 year old might be able to carry all that, I don't think I could. I would have gone off to hide hours within the first day. She's pretty brave to hang in there with all the accusations, and inquisitions.
LE, Ron, reporters, family members, neighbors. TM, more reporters. more LE. Ron. the biomon, the biograndma, the other grandma. ugh days and days and days of it. The worse thing is yet to come. When everyone leaves and she's left with Ron. Quite naturally the blame starts. If you woulda, if I woulda, then.....
Run Misty run.....lol

I hear ya, as I said above I considered it could be confusion in the frenzy of the moment (recalling what she wore earlier before bath? altho who puts shorts eg on child after bath at bedtime??) Btw someone w lower educational level, thrust into media spotlight, would become embarrassed every time that was exposed--like the fact she doesn't know difference between three inches... and three feet. To his credit actually IMO, dad didn't seem too embarrassed or ashamed re his gf's lack of education during their interview together (if he had, I would've been mad since he's not obviously doing anything to help her GET one). And on those occasions dad interrupted his gf, I attributed this merely to trying to ease her embarrassment, and clear up confusion. JMO

Reading your post just gave me a light bulb moment. Just suppose for a minute that someone on the maternal side kidnapped Haleigh, purposely left the boy. Then the boy goes to stay with mom while the search for sis is going on. Now the mom has a case against the dad for child neglect. The girl is found safe. They all go to court & the judge gives the children back to the mom. No more child support payments on her part. Problem(s) solved. What do you think? jmho, of course.

You know I had an ex husband who thought this same way...we divorced I got the business but owed him money. I paid alimony until the divorce was final to keep him out of the business. I made a few payments after the divorce then stopped. (The SOB got enough $$ from me.) Well he was sending me letters through his lawyer every couple of weeks about the money. My business was broken into and it sure looked like an inside job. They knew more about the alaram system than I did. Anyhow after the break-in I never heard another word from him about the money I owed him. A month later he purchased himself a new brand new boat with cash.

His fingerprints were found on something they should not have been on however I didn't want to press charges because of my kids....

Some people will go to lengths to get what they want and the way Bio Mom's BF is acting I wouldn't be too surprised.

I thought she said she used the blanket from the window to cover Haleigh because H's blanket was dirty, and Misti's blanket was gone. Seems to be a lot of issues with bedding in this case.

The timing of the shirt announcement is curious though, because the agents were back at the house yesterday.

OH. I didn't know that. Thanks for the heads up. :) I've been trying to keep up but sadly I don't get to read every thread or post.

- If they did find it at the house, why would Misty lie? Why wouldn't she just say she didn't remember, if she didn't? Yes, that would look suspicious but it would be way way better than lying.

I was on Misty's side at first too but the more and more that keeps coming out about her, the more I'm leaning to she has SOMETHING to do with it - even if she didn't do it herself. SOMETHING is going on with her. If she drank too much or was too high to remember what Haleigh was wearing or what, I don't know. I have baby brain sometimes too but you bet if one of my kids went missing, I'd sit there and think as long as I had too to try to remember what they were wearing (bc sometimes when I'm under pressure, I don't think quick enough or I can't answer fast enough or I just plain FORGET something - if the pressure is great enough) and I'd get it right. I just don't get Misty or what's going on with her.

Hermits cove is? Can you map that for us? Thanks!

I don't know how to make the google maps and link them, if you google:
"hermit's cove satsuma, fl" and then zoom in on the map you can see it's several streets northeast of where the dogs tracked

The other day when the alert was updated...the location was Hermit's Cove then. The location has not changed.

I tend to think this could be the reason Tim & his crew left. Maybe the shirt wasn't even found in the woods...maybe it was found in the water.:waitasec:

Why would they leave if they found a shirt in the water/house/woods? I'm just wondering. :)

One question on the blanket subject-
if Haleigh had wet hers the night before, how come Misty didn't wash it
during the day and have it ready for her to use that night?
What was she doing all day anyhow? Was she too busy entertaining company
to wash clothes, or was she even home all day?

She mentioned, in the first interview, that she knew the back door was shut because she had been washing clothes earlier and saw it shut.

Bolded by me

I've missed something, she wasn't around for 3 days?
I found a piece of gossip, actually it was a comment left on one of the news websites that said Misty had been gone for 3 days smoking crack. (God I hate to type that) Then, I saw it on another site as a comment, not FACT. So it is a rumor flying around the net, however the first time I saw it, I think it was on topix, the poster registered their name from Jacksonville Fl. Rumor, nothing more at this point

A Tampa radio show was reporting that. We have nothing to prove that story is anymore accurate than the rest of the stories. I just mentioned it because I was shocked to hear it, and shocked at how they were talking about it as if everyone knew it.

I know this is probably a dumb question but it's been bugging me....this "family" most likely doesn't have alot of money, so why would they call an air conditioning guy in the middle of February? I mean, it's not even really hot in Florida right now, and they just moved in. In fact, they've had a bit of a cold spell there. Seems like something that wouldn't really be a priority. Course maybe the landlord was paying the bill, but still....just seems a little weird to me.

That Kat, or the "shell game..."

Me too, I would think the sonar would come out, or the horses would be sadded up.....

I'm only being hypothetical...if the shirt was found in the water, chances are she drowned and her body was carried away with the current. Again, just speculating. BTW, this is not what I think as I truly believe a sex offender is involved somehow...just trying to work through some theories.:blowkiss:

I thought it was odd, too. Misty goes into way too much detail. She could have just said the blankets were soiled, for her to say how Haleigh "peed" on them is almost like she has no thought for the little girl's feelings.. complete disregard for how Haleigh may feel about Misty telling live television she "peed" on a blanket. I'm sure a child, even at 5 years old would feel very embarrased and ashamed about it. I'm surprised Misty would even say that on national tv, it's very rude.

I found that very odd too. She was really composed during the interview, until she brought up the blanket...She also ranted on and on about how good she is to those kids.
