Misty also claimed that she had to wash the blanket that was covering the window and Hayleigh's blanket because it smelled like urine.

Yup.. according to Misty, two blankets needed to be washed, the blanket on the window and Haleigh's blanket. Here's what she said about the blankets for anyone who may have missed it:

I put her to bed and....her blanket and my blanket...my blanket was in the van that they took. So we had a blanket hanging on the window and I had to wash that. And her blanket--her blanket was--was she had peed on her blanket the night before, I guess. And I was gonna put it on her, but it smelled like pee. So I washed her blanket and I gave her a little sheet to cover up with. (voice breaks)

I know this is probably a dumb question but it's been bugging me....this "family" most likely doesn't have alot of money, so why would they call an air conditioning guy in the middle of February? I mean, it's not even really hot in Florida right now, and they just moved in. In fact, they've had a bit of a cold spell there. Seems like something that wouldn't really be a priority. Course maybe the landlord was paying the bill, but still....just seems a little weird to me.

I was going to say the landlord probably had the AC guy come. I would call the landlord and have them fix my AC if it didn't work. I don't have any facts though. thats just my speculation.

A Tampa radio show was reporting that. We have nothing to prove that story is anymore accurate than the rest of the stories. I just mentioned it because I was shocked to hear it, and shocked at how they were talking about it as if everyone knew it.

Thank you. :)

That Kat, or the "shell game..."

Kiki :D good one! Listening to her everchanging accounts of that night (to the media) reminds me of that old routine.

Abbott and Costello~ Who's on first?

Wouldn't RC have known what color shirt Haleigh was wearing when he picked her up from the school bus? I know Misti was the last one to see her, but I'd bet the detectives asked them both what they last saw her wearing? So as of now, neither one of them can remember?

Not sure if this applies to FL but, in most AL counties there is a mandatory school uniform policy in public and private schools. Does anyone know if Haleigh's school had a uniform policy? Maybe check school website?

I always thought it was weird that she broke up whenever she said she covered HC up with the sheet. I was struck by that and thought it was strange.

Not to be nit-picky, but I live in North Florida in Pensacola, and up until a day ago I had my air conditioner on because it was in the high 70's and humid; we felt hot and sticky so the air had to come on. So I don't find it strange that they called the air conditioner guy. I live more north (and way west) of Satsuma, so it had to be even warmer there. Just saying.

Does anyone have the link for the presser from today that works?

Just focus on the face of Haleigh....good grief!! Misty doesn't know what Haleigh was wearing?? And LE acts like that is no BIG DEAL??

Just go look for Haleigh...you're on your own...no details....poor little girl.

If my guess is right and it is just a guess but one from life experience of my own son and daughter in law being meth addicts. My guess is Misty probably couldn't tell you what SHE was wearing that night, unless of course she's still wearing it. That's the thing with meth addicts, they will binge for days, crash for days and then not recall the last week at all. When they are really strung out from a binge their speech is slow, thought process very scattered and slow and their recall of past events makes little if any sense.
When Misty reported Haleigh as last seen wearing a pink shirt...that could have been weeks ago.
From watching all of the parent/grandparent players in this I'm guessing there is major drug use and the drug of choice is meth.

I think they found the shirt.

In the woods?

Why wouldn't they tell us exactly where it was found?

Just wanna throw this in for you to consider:

My daughter changed close FREQUENTLY through out the day at that age!
If Misty wasn't keeping an eye on her, she could have changed them herself.

I'm starting to seriously wonder if Haleigh was playing outside, disappeared with an SO who had seen her in the neighborhood, perhaps paying rent at B's house
(don't a lot of landlords start charging a late fee after the 10th?), and Misty's was reluctant to call 911 because of the possible quanity of drugs in the house.

Maybe her brother came over not too visit, but to help her look, then took off in van. Maybe he even carried the stash out in the blanket to dispose of them (to hide them from his kids). Misty would have had to wipe everything down before calling 911, explains cleaning spree.

Would explain why Ron looks so worried in the interview he did with Misty on Greta's show. He's scared Misty will screw up cover story.

They may have lied about the time line, wasted time covering their own a$$es, but an SO could have still taken Haleigh.

Weren't they searching by KJ's dad's church yesterday? Where is he?????
I think LE is tight lipped because of small chance Haleigh is still alive. And, I'm sure they know about the drugs. Their just focusing on Haleigh right know.

I could be all wrong, but don't hang them yet, ok?

I don't know how to make the google maps and link them, if you google:
"hermit's cove satsuma, fl" and then zoom in on the map you can see it's several streets northeast of where the dogs tracked
I believe it is the name of the cove/trailer park. There is a Cove Drive and also a Hermit Road (IIRC). They are giving a general location by saying Hermit's Cove Satsuma, Fl. No. It has not changed from the beginning. (There is another Hermit's Cove, FL about 78 miles south.)

I called an AC guy when my heater stopped working. The heater/ac is in the same unit inside the house. the compresser and fan for AC is outside.

I was thinking meth problem too...their brains just misfire.

is anyone else seeing the irony that one child was memorialized that day, and another goes missing? Maybe something happened earlier in the day...An accident...They take the body far away, learning from Casey's mistakes... Decide to wait 15 hours to report her missing so both of them have an alibi.

Dumb question alert:
If Misty is 17 and has been questioned extensively, why have we not seen a legal guardian?
If there was a parent o guardia, I would be sure that the media flocking around would have gotten photos by now. Why aren't there any?
Earlier, my hinky meter was going wild, now I am just confused.

I've turned on the AC many times this past winter. Even though the north was cold and snowy, most of the south was not. it's hot today and I just kicked on the AC :)

I still have not seen where it says he was actually working on the AC. ;)

If that rumor of Misty being gone 3 days, drugged up or whatever...and Ron found her and brought her back and left his kids in her care....then he's an idiot. And irresponsible. And probably a liar, also. Poor little girl, Haleigh...were there no responsible adults in her life??

Apparently not. :(

I hit the submit too soon (Husband called while I was typing and I got distracted). Okay and I don't like her ever changing stories about sleeping arrangements to the Media.

I also don't like that now it's unknown what Haleigh was wearing. That changed too, pink shirt undies, pink shirt-tan shorts, pajamas, etc.

Lil' Missy got a lil' 'splainin' to do. All I gotta say.

Yes. Not only have we heard changing stories re sleeping arrangements that nite, it just isn't clear to me what they were on most nights.

But, as an intruder, would you leave the light on? If I were an intruder, I agree with you about turning the light on vs. stumbling over objects, I would put the light on long enough for me to get my bearings as to where things are, then I would turn the light back off. Just a thought.

Yes true, or you might just get the h#[[ outa there, w as little risk as possible of tripping on the way out! Remember you've now got your arms full w a solid 5 year-old, maybe one of them covering poor little Haleigh's mouth. :(

Reading your post just gave me a light bulb moment. Just suppose for a minute that someone on the maternal side kidnapped Haleigh, purposely left the boy. Then the boy goes to stay with mom while the search for sis is going on. Now the mom has a case against the dad for child neglect. The girl is found safe. They all go to court & the judge gives the children back to the mom. No more child support payments on her part. Problem(s) solved. What do you think? jmho, of course.

Again, the problem is a five year-old can talk... can tell where they were, and verbalize everything that happened. JMO

Just my opinion but I don't think Misti harmed the child BUT I don't think Misti watched the children well. I think she came and went with her friends and had people in and partied, drugged, drank etc. I think these kids were just an afterthought. Hope they stay in bed and not get into any trouble. I am not even sure Misti was home when this child was abducted.

I don't think Misty paid much attention to the two children. She may not have even been there that evening, getting home about 3:00am so she'd be home when Ron came home. She may have found Haleigh gone, and everything else is a story to cover her butt for not being there.

I'm leaning more to the purported drug use. Even if Misty was physically present, if she was using drugs, she may have been so high on some substance that she didn't know what was going on in the house.
