Ohhhh, thanks. I misunderstood!
Originally the judge said he expected closings to happen on Tuesday.
I actually thought they were going to play Washington’s taped testimony
but I guess the defense decided not to...which breaks a promise they made to the jury. This defense expert folded on cross esp about the multiple foot prints. I’m hoping the jury realize ( like CTV says) the seven bad guys only brought one gun loaded with the wrong ammo and did not know how to shot straight. Oh and I guess all seven were in Brandi’s bedroom but she got by all of them to run out the front door?
Sad and just beyond evil that HS shot the child in the back of the head.
That child...they all trusted him. They let the wolf in the door.

More humane than drowning though :(.

Thanks for summing up the footprints, running out the door, etc. I was so tuned out to that testimony I wasn't sure what points were being made.

THANK you for bringing that up. I was composing a long drawn out post about this fact.

In one of many Santos transcripts he bring this up saying the proximity of the houses was a concern,

12 gunshots in that house for one un-armed woman and helpless children,

A gunshot to the head is to kill not torture,

The crime scene as evidenced by splatter is indicative of drawn out struggle,

7 people or 2 people however many would only need to grab a child for compliance,

A spade would not be in question. How about sticking it in the ground outside the house or laying it on the victim to send your message,

ETA: especially a cartel has one gun amongst them

Thank you all for summarizing the testimony for me. Now I see why the Prosecution didn't need to call their witness at the end. I hope the jury can see that these murders were committed by one and only one person HS.

HS is left handed. I noticed that when he was writing to avoid the graphic evidence photos. I guess you cannot tell by projectory which hand the perp used....and of course 1 out of 7 cartel could be a leftie.

*sigh* Fuchs just doesn’t have the ooomph needed for this case! He’s got a highly circumstantial case that was hung 8-4 for acquittal. I realize he may not want to overdo it and appear overzealous. I hope he’s saving the fire for rebuttal!

I hope so, too.

I caught a nearly imperceptible nod from HS when Fuchs suggested that his nightmares were from drowning the kids. I rewound and watched again and recorded it. I wish I knew how to upload a short video clip.

Defense attorney talking WAY too fast and focusing too much on things the State did not do in terms of testing, etc. I know the State has the burden, but the defense could have done this stuff too, right?

today- HS is wearing a yellow shirt. Not a good choice. He looks so smug. I don’t think that guy could look sincere if his life depended on it! Im sure he’s already planning on suing the state for his false incarceration $$$$.

Praying hard this waste of space gets
his full punishment.

Seriously, I want to slap that ridiculous expression off his face.

Really looking forward to the rebuttal. Thought the defense did a decent job of muddling everything up.

I would NOT want to be on this jury.

Love the "I'm a Grown Man!" slide lol.

ugh still watching defense closing...…..

he keeps saying what the jury has to remember, well what the jury does not know (I don't think it was brought up at trial?)

a lot of this DNA was retested because, DNA TESTING HAD ADVANCED, all the trial delays it took years for this case to reach the first jury,

arrested in 2011, first trial 2107, retrial 2019

at this juncture (retrial) the ANGEL AVILA DNA would not meet the current standards to even enter the DNA into CODIS system

Scrolling through Brandi's cell records until the abrupt end, when the defendant has admitted to being at her house (after lying about it many times), was very powerful.....

I've experienced first-hand just how irrationally irate a man can get about child support, even if it's not a lot of money. Downright nasty. I 100% have NO problem believing this is a motive for this murder.

I just now got home. Thanks for the summary of closings so far. Are they worth watching?

I am listening to the rebuttal closing by the Prosecution now.
