I definitely think she was planning to kill herself - she had no thought that she would go to jail because she thought she'd be dead. But she messed up her own suicide.

I've wondered why she didn't go with carbon monoxide poisoning in the vehicle. Swallow the pills, drink alcohol and let the car's exhaust do the rest.

Maybe it's not a surefire method - too many opportunities to be rescued before completion.

I believe they are PD. She is apparently indigent after divorce. (Someone please correct if I am wrong.)

yes she has three public defenders and I so agree that they cannot wait until this is over. It seems clear to me that don't exactly believe in their case...you can feel it. Opening was very weak and unless something extraordinary happens next week I suspect closing will be equally boring and not at all convincing. Frankly the most passion on either side I have seen was in jury selection.

I see the DT as having no passion for this case. They and JS don't appear to connect imo.

I do think her main reason was to hurt PS, whether out of spite or her sickness, I'm undecided if she really planned to kill herself. It's possible after the kids were dead and she did all that writing, she may have wanted to see his reaction and delayed her own demise until she was so stoned she passed out. It does seem to me that the drugs she was on, combined with the alcohol only intensified her mental illness.

I believe she is an attorney but clearly the junior member of the team and yes she has the ugly task of having to deal with JS the most...but it is still minimal compared to the interaction you normally see at the table.

My vote spite. As I said before she talked about it for years like crying wolf. Most who talk about it DONT.

I have not watched as many trials as most here but I have never seen a situation where the defendant never once even glances at her family. I would really like to know if since 2011 she has had any contact with them. Maybe the camera angle is such that there is some eye contact off camera.

I think she was self absorbed and narcissistic and was feeling sorry for herself.

Mr BIL is retired ER Dr, his best friend is a psychiatrist, and my sis is a nurse anesthetist. This is what they said recently.
