JS became addicted to gambling in the year prior to the murders, going through 1000 a month, and dipping into retirement fund. She and PS had to borrow money to pay monthly bills.

Was this why she refused the medical consent -- to hide the gambling? Possibly a part.

She only included family members into counseling sessions with Elizabeth Marsh only after Ms. Marsh agreed not to discuss gambling issues with family.

#JulieSchenecker only allowed Parker into counseling sessions only when it was agreed that they would not discuss her gambling addiction

This is looking very badly for the insanity plea. Between the gambling and the drinking IMO it takes a sane person to want to hide it and cover up.

#JulieSchencker's gambling was so severe, they had to borrow $10K to pay the bills

Sounds like she did this for many months for them to need $10 grand to get out of it.

Does anyone think this doctor feels like he is being feed to the sharks?

This doctor has now fallen into the category of "adding fluff to pad the defense's case" for me. If he feels like he's being fed to the sharks, then he's not standing behind the facts of the case and feels the need to defend his choices. If an expert witness is truly impartial, they have nothing to get defensive about.

Maybe I got spoiled by Dr. Janeen DeMarte, but I have high expectations for expert witnesses. I expect them to simply testify to the facts and leave out all the fluff.

In her interrogation, did her statement that she didn't want to go to jail indicate she knew her actions were wrong? No, she knew the police were asking her questions, and that she might go to jail. Did she have an awareness that others in society would view her actions as wrong? Yes. But she was in a confused state, unclear as to whether the children were dead or not, but not a clear formed notion as to whether what she did was right or wrong.

Maher says Julie was in a "confused state" after killings. Unclear if she thought her actions were right or wrong. #ScheneckerTrial

Dr Janeen DeMarte did set a high standard didn't she. She said it the way she saw it.

This doctor is not being impartial IMO and that is why he doesn't want to admit to simple yes or no answers.

JS wrote in her notebook that she was planning a Saturday massacre -- did doing so indicate she realized she be killing herself and others? Yes

USF records - was it a delusion for her to discuss an intent to get impregnated by an ex-boyfriend? Even stopping medications to facilitate it? Dr. M: her diagnosis indicates the clinician conducting the eval believed there was the likelihood of psychotic delusions. Did the desire to get pregnant indicate a psychotic delusion -- I don't know.

Dr. Maher: #JulieSchenecker was angry at Parker Schenecker for years and years for a lot of things.

Pros saying #JulieSchenecker felt betrayed by Parker throughout the years. Resentment was building up against him and shot kids to hurt him

Dr Maher says he can't utterly or positively exclude the possibility #JulieSchenecker shot her kids to get back at Parker Schenecker

Did JS speaking of her children in the present tense during her interrogation indicate psychiatric denial? Yes.

JS knew at the time of the shootings that she had a gun in her hand and that shooting the children was a lethal act.

JS was extremely angry at her husband.

JS understood that the murder of her children would hurt PS.

She was angry that PS had forced her into rehab; she was angry at him for years.

She felt betrayed by PS, but she also felt a number of positive feelings toward him.

Did JS shoot the kids to hurt PS? I could not exclude that possibility.

Could some of her motivation be the dynamic of her relationship with her husband? I need to give you an explanation -- a simple yes or no is not adequate. She may have had psychotic beliefs about PS not taking care of the children. She believed that PS would not have kept them protected and safe.

What other things did JS express to you about her husband? She thought he was a great guy, that he would be successful in whatever he did. She admired him. She was fearful that he would divorce her, and other other ideas which were not necessarily rational.

What are some reasons she may have under-reported her symptoms? Side effects. Belief she could better manage her meds, esp. with new docs. Desire to appear strong and capable, rather than pathetic and stupid and incapable of managing her own life.

She feared involuntary hospitalization.
