Her diagnosis in the medical records initially Depression, then around 15 years ago, shifted to Bipolar Disorder, then around 2002-2010 Bipolar Disorder w/ psychotic features, and then Schizo-affective Disorder.
Bipolar - formerly called Manic-depressive disorder. Incapacitating. To have psychotic features means one is having delusional thinking, or hallucinations (hearing or seeing things others can't see). More severe form of bipolar disorder.
Schizo-affective disorder have periods where they don't seem to be having mood problems but they're having psychotic features.
