she thought the neighbors would hear the gunshots from inside the house....

Thanks Zoey. Yes but that was the shooting of CS. The impression I got from the description of the shooting of BS was that she was actually in the act of driving and just reached out and shot him. One bullet went through the window and one went into BS's head. So how come no one else heard or saw anything?

I have noticed that JS is talking to her attorney's more today than the rest of the trial. I wonder if it is relief that it is almost over?

I feel that MI did cause JS to kill her children, but I believe she knew that killing her children was wrong.
I have had to disconnect my feelings from the facts in this case and just focus on what the law is.
Legally she does not fit the requirements to be found NGRI because I believe there is evidence proving she knew what she was doing was wrong.

My hope for her is that she gets the mental help she needs whether it be in prison, or a mental hospital.

The verdict in this case makes no difference for me, which is odd considering I usually have a very strong opinion by now and am either elated at the verdict or storming mad.

But this time, I honestly feel sorry for JS and wish her well and hope she finds a treatment program that works for her. She has to live with the fact that she murdered her own children, and her being in a place where she can't numb out on alcohol and pain pills and has to face that reality day after day is enough of a sentence to satisfy me.

I still think she thinks the murders of her children were justified.

I am usually not this hardhearted but I don't have one ounce of sympathy for this woman. She had so so so many more opportunities afforded to her than most do who suffer from MI.

I think she used her MI as a crutch in order to gain control and sympathy.

She just like everyone else has choices in life. She chose to intake alcohol. She chose to abuse her medication. This is not a stupid woman. She knew what would happen if she abused the drugs and drank and she also knew combining them together was not the thing to do to maintain a healthy mental state of mind.

Giving her excuses for murdering her children flies in the face of millions of others who also suffer from Bi-Polar and harm no one.

I am a Coke-aholic!:floorlaugh:

In fact one time long ago our five year old granddaughter at the time told the Preacher that very same thing. I was so embarrassed and quickly explained I was addicted to Coke-A-Cola........not the illegal drug known as coke.:floorlaugh::please:

If restaurants don't have Coke products.........we don't go there!

Pepsi taste way too sweet to me. Like its being sitting there and has become flat. (Gag)

:floorlaugh: we must be clones. I grew up on coke and love it. Pepsi is a lot sweeter and doesn't have the same zip, the level of selzer (sp?). It kick starts my day after I chug down two cups of tea hot (with milk and sugar TY).

What a minute. I thought when the defense went with an affirmative defense (Insanity) it was on them to prove she was insane.

How else would they do that if they didn't produce doctors?

I don't know about anyone else but this defense attorney is so boring to listen to. I am already getting sleepy and zoning out. LOL!

I still am unclear about the shooting of BS. I keep saying "What street were they on where you can fire 2 shots- one of which goes through the passenger window- without anyone seeing or hearing a thing?"

I can't imagine any streets in Tampa that would fit that criteria. That's one thing that makes me lean (slightly - still on the fence) toward insanity. She shot him, while driving the car, in a very public place. Maybe she thought her hand had been forced, since he saw the gun.
