What a minute. I thought when the defense went with an affirmative defense (Insanity) it was on them to prove she was insane.

How else would they do that if they didn't produce doctors?

I don't know about anyone else but this defense attorney is so boring to listen to. I am already getting sleepy and zoning out. LOL!

Huh? I thought in Florida that the defense had to prove insanity? How else is the jury suppose to understand the state of JS's mind at the time of the killings unless you have witnesses and hopefully the witnesses are professional in the field of psychiatry since JS decided NOT to testify?

It helps me to sometimes try to find a silver lining in situations such as this. Nothing can make the execution of 2 children okay. Nothing can take away the years of pain that this family endured.

However...

It has always been very hard for me to have any sort of compassion for people that hurt others- even if it's an animal. Through watching this trial and sharing in the discussion on here, I've learned to allow myself to see JS as a human being despite her horrible actions. My sense of justice has not been diminished by admitting that JS also suffers. So I've grown from this. Thanks, guys.

Can't help but wonder...why Thursday?

She bought the gun on Sat., and there was a 3 day waiting period, why didn't she get the gun on Tuesday?

And...if her purpose was for Parker to find the bodies...why didn't she wait til the day he was to come home, or at least the day before?

Don't know if this has been answered as I'm a bit behind here.
But the Lock n' Load clerk testified that there is a 3 business day hold. Sat/Sun didn't count. so Mon- Wed was the hold and she was able to pick up Thurs.

IIRC at one point is was suggested that she went to Oldsmar because she thought there wasn't a 3 day wait there, but I don't remember the source of that info or where the gun-shop-suggestion info came into play. TIA to anyone who can clarify the sources!

I believe it was Dr. Otto that testified that JS had told one of the other experts (can't remember which, but it was written in their notes that Dr. Otto reviewed) that a friend had told her there wasn't a 3 day wait in Oldsmar and that was the reason she went there. The friend wasn't revealed as far as I know.
