Oh, but he just had what appeared to be a "lighthearted moment" and a chuckle as the audio of the jail recordings was being adjusted.

Sound quality of these clips is not exactly state-of-the-art. I can see the defense challenging the "translation" of the sound into the spoken words.

It a county jail, it's not unusual for grade schoolers to take a field trip there. I remember our school doing that when we were little.

I can just see him getting up before the court and cameras, grandstanding. Even squeezing out a few tears. But with the appeals process, he has plenty of time to be in protective custody on death row where the inmates can't get him.

That's my question. An article explaining these recordings termed the girls "juveniles" almost as if they were in an adjacent facility, maybe outside on the exercise grounds, and the male inmates where DS was housed had a window to see them through! I don't know. I probably don't have this right.

IIRC, the prosecutor used the word "tour". Did I get that wrong?
