He told psychologist that he blamed Cherish for having to kill her. He told psychologist he was angry Cherish got in the van with him, and thought, "I'm a convicted sex offender, how am I going to explain this?"

Just a few months later he was refusing to engage or participate in further treatment, including refusing to take the shots. The treatment was discontinued.

The psychologist previously testified he denied a lot of treatment opportunities despite his diagnoses stemming 40+ years ago.

In her report she described him as manipulative, callous, uncaring, lacking empathy, lacking remorse.

Discussing his financial history, grew up fairly privileged, private school, and into adulthood his mother paid for many of his debts and financial troubles, including drug debts.

Re-iterated that none of her testimony and nothing in her report is intended as mitigating evidence. She said that is correct.

This psychologist is the most reasonable one I have seen testify for the offender -- she doesn't seem to be giving him any excuses for his behavior, etc. Seems to me she is just stating facts -- no mitigation, as far as I can see.

Defense counsel has been difficult for me to hear for most of this portion, but it seems they are going through prior treatment such as the androgen shots.

Defense ended recross by asking if incarceration would essentially work in this case, psychologist stated there are no children in prison and he showed stabilization in prior incarceration periods (no cocaine).
