Maybe the defense has a grand plan of turning all this into powerful mitigating reasons. I know they are just attempting to do their jobs, but so far the testimony has just irritated and enraged me. It feels like nonsense.

I wonder how the jury is feeling about it.

I would imagine that they feel just the same. I really think that the punishment is a foregone conclusion and this is just a formality

Psychiatric effects of chronic cocaine use: Cognitive impairment, paranoia and psychosis, violent behaviors (short fuse), delirium (extreme confusion), homicide and suicide have been reported for chronic abusers.

It impacts judgment and planning.

Cocaine induced psychosis is being discussed in more depth, as well as the risk factors, such as duration of use, taking other medications, etc.

He was taking seroquel "two days prior" (I think this meant two days prior to the crimes in this case?)

Well too bad he didn't commit suicide

Now discussing seroquel.

Now discussing seroquel.

Seroquel is an antipsychotic. It won't add to his psychosis. More likely to sedate him to not want to do much of anything. (personal experience of Seroquel here).

Really looking forward to the state questioning of this one.

  • #1,050
He is saying the cocaine and seroquel together caused a "crock pot" effect where the same neurotransmitters were being effected by multiple substances.

  • #1,051
What a crock of $#%&. Blaming Cherish for all this. :gaah:

"DS would have been impaired to the degree that his normal judgment skills and ability to reason were profoundly diminished."

Oh BS!

As a side note, DS has been looking extremely anxious, uncomfortable, and even scared since lunch (I couldn't watch this morning). But honestly it may just be because he is an addict having to hear his drug of choice be discussed for hours while he's been sober for years.

I can't remember. Do we know if there were drugs in his system at his arrest? (Not according to him, but was he tested?)

My sound is cutting on & off, anyone else? I'm on WAT

I read an article (of course, don't have the link) that said it is the preferred vehicle of pedophiles.

Sure -- you have lots of room to do just about anything to a victim. SMH.
