In other words, her expertise is in paperwork, I suppose.

She sees clients, not patients, so does not need to be license. What’s the difference, I’m confused.

If you watched Jodi Arias, SHE had a weirdo lady as mitigation specialist. She had no training for expertise! Too bad Jodi's attorneys didn't hire a more professional lady to do the job.

PS: reward of 10 cents if you remember her name. LOL!

How could this woman spend so much time with that creep?

  • #224
She doesn't look for justification just explanations.
Sigh if she could only provide any real ones...

Met with DS for over 100 hours.

That's a good bit of time. The rest of their experts ranged from no time, to only a few hours. They must feel pretty strongly about her testimony. I think only the son is after her?

"We knew he was never going to deny his guilt" so she only worked on penalty phase.

  • #228
She calls him Don?

  • #229
Uugggh she refers to him as "Don",
Inappropriate gesture of personifying him IMO

  • #230
Don't need to personalize him by calling him Don. I call him sadistic killer.

  • #231
I find that enormously inappropriate. How strange. Don?!!

  • #232
State objects to calling him Don. Court says call him Mr Smith.

  • #233
LOL called out on "Don"

Maria “something” ?

BINGO! I looked it up.

Maria De La Rosa

The article also had a great explanation of a mitigation specialist:

The defense-team member is Arias' "mitigation specialist," an investigator who gathers evidence and anecdotes from the defendant's life to try to persuade the jury not to impose the death penalty.

This is from USA today. I can't copy and paste since my old computer died. Techie Hubby needs time to fix.

Sounds like the mother self reports too. Over 6 lbs is not really considered pre-mature.

  • #238
Now his birth parents were "teenaged sweethearts". Nauseating imo

  • #239
We're going to be here longer than I thought. This is going to take a bit and I imagine the state will have a lot of information to pick at.

Conceived before the birth control pill was invented.
