That too.

In this case, it was simple traffic violation where LE learned that RW violated state statute when he failed to report his address change within 30 days to DMV. This rule applies to all residents of Florida -- law-abiding and law-breaking citizens.

Yea, we have that in my state as well with the DMV. I had forgotten and I actually got a warning for it once, years ago.

I think states have really cracked down on this violation in recent years because it only takes a couple of seconds online to update your address whereas earlier, who in their right mind didn't avoid the ridiculous lines at DMV (anywhere)!!

I can’t say his name since he’s a minor and not a victim. his bloodline.

Got it.

I sure wish that Robert would have moved to AZ and I think he probably could have still appeared in virtual court and/or satisfied the requirement for the minor citations he was facing from the traffic stop last October.

I think all he needed to do then was to show proof of insurance, and plead guilty to the stop sign charge, and not changing his address timely, and pay the fines for each. He put himself in this dilemma by pleading not guilty to these minor violations-- as is his right.

Don't get me wrong but if I wanted to leave the state on a clean slate, I would not be holding myself up in traffic court with a not guilty plea here. Seems this guy never received one day of good advice or didn't listen. He's just a kid -- barely 21.
:(:(

@Seattle1 , I think it ticked up after 9/11 as well and I think that’s when utility companies started to require ids for service.

Very true -- the good ole Patriot Act!

What a nightmare.... I had my wallet/DL and checkbook stolen. After reporting to my bank, I could not reopen a new bank account and transfer my funds to new account because I needed two pieces of photo ID and all I had was a passport.

I was eventually able to replace my DL with my passport and current utility statements, in my name, mailed to the same address of record with DMV.

I learned then to never ever be without a stash of cash to get you through a couple of weeks at minimum.

MOO
