Well, this latest takedown definitely would put a damper on the Adelson's New Year celebrations. L'Shana Tovah! Your arrogance and greed got you nowhere except maybe a jail sentence.

Not hard at all Razz. It's only about 330 miles from Key West to Isla Mujeres. With a bit of sailing know-how, not a difficult sail at all. Power boat would be quicker if it can carry enough fuel. Not sure I'd risk it right now though :)

But there is a hurricane right now, so I doubt it.

FANTASTIC NEWS! What we've been waiting and hoping for.

And not to be crass, but congrats to those of us that called it, and "told ya so" to the naysayers. :)

i hope he doesn't give false testimony to get the A's off. I want to see them go down!

If Rivera testified, "Garcia (or KM) told me that the As would pay us $50K to kill their ex-son-in-law," that would be inadmissible hearsay if offered to prove that the As actually did do that, right?

Not necessarily. A statement made by a party's coconspirator during and in furtherance of the conspiracy is not hearsay.

19 years includes his 12 year previous sentence. He must be talking alot to get only 7 years!!! He probably told them everything.

Ok. Just another question. How hard would it be to take a boat (personal) from Florida to Mexico and escape law enforcement?

Not possible in the next couple of days, as hurricane is coming. Otherwise, yes, they could do that.

Reporter: His original request was to serve his sentence concurrently 12 years, so you got an additional 7 years.
Prosecutor Cappleman: Right. Yipee.
Reporter: Not so happy 7 years for a murder.
Prosecutor Cappleman: No but you can understand why it was necessary to move forward and try to hold everyone accountable that has a part in this crime.

WTXL got it wrong originally, but then corrected their report to this:
http://www.wtxl.com/news/suspect-in...cle_3415fb58-8a68-11e6-ae15-33b56399e3a3.html
The 19 year sentence is concurrent with his ongoing federal sentence of 12 years, meaning Rivera will only serve seven more years as a result of the new sentencing.

Yes, that's why I said he must have told them he would spill the beans on everything because 7 years for 2nd degree murder is nothing.
