I the hung juror was not going to convict NO matter what GC said. NOTHING would have worked! Facts had no bearing on her(?) decision.

Agree. I think it's pretty obvious by how quickly they came back for the final time! I think one person, possibly two, really dug in their heels for whatever reason. It will be really interesting to hear what the reason is.

I think if prosecutors had enough they’d move on the Adelsons yesterday! That FBI agent wants them bad! And for good reason. This scenario is why there’s a solicitation charge in the law. So that rich ppl don’t pay poor ppl to kill/commit crimes for them. This IS the exact scenario. And the optics are very bad!

On the one side you have a gang banger that got basically no time for his role. Then you have the broke guy in the hood killing for the rich lady! Optically, it looks bad! And the DA wants the Adelsons I have no doubt!

I don't know how high up the ladder the attorney being interviewed is but he didn't pull any punches. The family should have been sitting right there along side the two defendants and in his opinion there is enough evidence to bring them up on charges. It could have influenced the jury not to convict KM that the real conspirators weren't on trial with her. It seems the state is leery of taking on the high dollar attorneys from down south and there might be politics at play as well.

I think this might be a BIG reason why, Wishbone!!

I think they are just too afraid to lose.

So if it was the retired States Attorney who denied to charge CA (Willy Meggs), can GC file a new probable case for review to have CA charged? Hope I’m making sense.

I listened to the old interview Willy Meggs did on the Over my Dead body podcast. Clearly - he didn’t want to go up against high priced South Florida attorneys and lose the case and in his words “be laugh at”. Seems to me he didn’t even want to attempt to get justice for the Markels. It was more about the State possibly losing and getting laughed at.

That is so horrible. Where's Willy Meggs now?

Retired and living on his farm outside of Tallahasse I believe.

Yes; don’t want to go half-c0cked! Prosecutors don’t prosecute cases they don’t think they can win. The Adelsons are just another rich family. They’re not politically connected are they? So I doubt that’s what’s stopping the DA.

Court TV is even hinting now that someone on the jury was an idiot for convicting SG and not KM. She is the link.

Here's the thing. Prior to today, there was good reason for not charging Charlie: KM could still possibly flip. You don't want to try him, lose, and then have more evidence surface that could have changed the outcome. But now, although there is still some chance KM could turn, the case against Charlie is likely as good as it's going to get, and it's better IMO with KM sitting at the defense table with him and her hitman hubby already behind bars. GC needs to talk to John Lewin in Los Angeles. Dude specializes in, and loves, circumstantial cases, and often brings them home.

i agree with this. i liked the "go after the low hanging fruit first" strategy.

Seems like CourtTV panels/commentators (other than Seema who is usually ) are way more informed about cases than Law & Crime panels/commentators.

Whoever was the holdout was likely another narcissistic/borderline type who related to KM on the stand. They walk among us folks! And her taking the stand probably helped her connect with “her type” on the jury! Because no other explanation makes sense! JMO

I agree. Also, in my opinion Katie gave the prosecution a huge gift by taking the stand. The prosecution can refer to her testimony and use it in a new trial and, if they charge CA and have him at the defense table with her, it will put enormous pressure on him. If she doesn't choose to testify in the next trial her testimony is videotaped and can be played for the next jury. KM is on record and under oath now locked into her story and that provides extraordinary opportunity for the prosecution to develop new evidence to effectively impeach her. This, in turn, would make it difficult for Charlie NOT to take the stand. This thing is far from over and I believe there will be charges brought against Charlie before the end of the year with or without anyone flipping.

I noticed that a lot of these people on TV get some of the facts wrong. Even Seema, who repeatedly said that the reason this case took 3 years to go to trial was because the State has been trying to cut a deal with KM for 3 years. We all know that the reason this case took 3 years was mostly because of the delays, delays, and delays by the defense. The State can't hold up a case from trial for 3 years simply because they are holding out for a plea deal. The defendants have a right to due process and a speedy trial. Seema should know better. I think that we know this case a lot better than some of the people on TV.

Or.....I'm not convicting this poor minority while all the rich white folks walk free.
