The more we learn about this perp, he is definitely a good candidate for life without the possibility of parole.
Sounds like the murder was a 'thrill kill' and exciting for him.
His own mother.
I am gobsmacked that there are people supporting and defending him.
Imo.
He did not kill the baby. If he had, I would have agreed, zero potential for rehabilitation.
Maybe I feel sorry for the kid. I empathize with his plight, of having a "new father" setting into a space, and he probably felt displaced. And that cringe picture, of him having to touch his mother's pregnant belly next to his stepfather, with their hands on her belly. That is just out to lunch.
I think he felt completely betrayed by his mother. And we don't know anything about their relationship.
He reminds me of Edmund Kemper, a serial killer, from Helena, MT, who was horribly abused by his mother. He probably would have been normal if his mother hadn't been so sick.
Although, that being said, Edmund Kemper did become a serial rapist killer, probably due to his issues with his mother.
Probably right, this kid is a ticking bomb. But, at least he didn't kill the baby.
Yes, that's the one. Perhaps he did have a thing for his mother?
I am gobsmacked that there are people supporting and defending him.
Imo.
Ted Bundy is suspected, never proven, of killing an 8 year old girl when he was a teenager. Many in society want to believe that a 13-year-old couldn't be so evil, must have something good inside that can mean rehabilitation is possible.
It's too terrifying to think that maybe a 13-year-old could be beyond help, capable of anything, yet going to school with all of the other kids.
We (many in society) also want to think, his parents must have made a mistake somewhere that we wouldn't make with our own kids. It can't be all his own fault. And so we defend him.
And we often want to believe the best of others, especially young people, and give them the benefit of the doubt. That's why so many people, even those who do the worst, have a chance at parole... not saying I agree, but that's our justice system.
