but life insurance (usually? correct me if i'm wrong?) doesn't pay out until things like this are resolved or the husband is cleared. maybe? i'm not sure, but i feel like i knew that from somewhere.

however is money in your pocket. who cares about life insurance when you want $$$$.

The girls are 8 and 11. It should be resolved by the time they go to college

Perhaps because it was rear-ended not too long ago? Road rage? Check the last video, it almost looks like a motorcycle ran into the van.

As far as I understand Dr Sievers had dogs and a dog-sitter, who would come by and walk the dogs. The tan SUV could have to do with that. Some of the neighbors also seem surprised "that the dogs did not bark". If this information is correct, there could be several reasons for that:

1. The dogs were not at the house at that time
2. Dr Sievers was killed and the dogs were in a separate area of the house
3. Someone familiar with the dogs made them be quiet

A Dr who does not take health insurance, is booked up till Dec(6 months) should have plenty of money to pay for a life insurance policy. She was the main income and if she wanted her daughters to go to school IMO she would have had a policy for them. These fund sites are usually set up to pay burial cost and maybe a few months living expenses. Asking for a million dollars is outrageous IMO when there is a father who can support and raise his children.Many parents without the means this family have, keep a policy to provide for their children.It seems very tacky to be asking for so much money, so quickly.If she gave her time and money to these other organizations I would think she had a policy for at least her girls. I have seen families devastated by a death but usually they ask for help with the funeral, and maybe a few months money to help them. JMO but I feel it is out of line.

My Dr. stopped taking insurance once be became a millionaire.

I saw the dent but what makes you think motorcycle as opposed to her backing it into something?

I am guessing dogs barking at the Drs house and a New Years Eve celebration across the street! Then one other across the street. (Harassment doesn't sound god though!)

I vote #1 or #3. However, there was just a case where dogs were put outside (or left outside) of their owners' house by the murderers for 18 hours and they didn't bark enough to get anyone's attention that something was up.

My questions have more to do with the intuologist or whatever she calls herself who set up the donations. I know the practice is going to fold without Dr. Teresa but I wonder if it was going to fold prior to her murder and the staff knew it.

There was a murder of a young woman in Scottsdale a few months ago and iirc, the murder weapon was believed to be something like a hammer. A hammer is small and can cause a lot of damage and death. I'm not sure why some believe it is all that unusual a murder weapon. Blunt force trauma is often inflicted in murders, imo.

because a hammer is not something you bring to murder someone.

good call - that would certainly explain someone knowing she was home alone and also the yelling & the rage killing
