I have seen many movies with transport vans and they are not designed like this. Have you ever seen a transport vehicle with uncushioned narrow bar seating?
The van is probably configured for short trips with inmates e.g. between the jail and courthouse downtown in Tallahassee, to/from local work camps, etc. and not for all-day transfers hundreds of miles away.

I had forgotten about this tidbit during Charlies trial.
We talked about the teacher bringing back WA’s stuff.
His name is Keener. Rashbaum called him her “friend”.
WA said she left with only some swimsuits for the boys and thought she would be returning in a couple of days.
She told Rashbaum that this friend brought down her stuff.
SO how could he have done that if she wasn’t packed?
Did he just pack all of her stuff himself?
what about her bed? The boys beds? Couches.. Dining room furniture?
Need I say TV’s?
I think this would be a very important witness for WA’s trial.
Anyone’s thoughts on this?

And wouldn’t the boys already have swimsuits at Donnas place? What an odd thing to leave with. Just swimsuits.

Interesting. I think there are a ton of witnesses who will have some insightful things to say about WA's behaviour around the time of the murder.

So WA had a friend who was in Tallahassee and coincidently was driving to Miami with room for all their possessions.. and was willing to pack everything up!? And like you said what about fridge, washing machine, beds, TVs, couches, dressers, dining tables, chairs, crockery, clothes, bikes, kids toys etc etc

It was a teacher from her High school who was living in Tallahassee at the time.
I remember finding his curriculum vitae online a couple of years ago

She also mentioned on the stand that “we were discussing” the school Ben was to go to. I don’t think they ever discussed it because he only just found out about it that week right? And they were supposed to discuss it the day of the murder.

What do you mean?
I'm not sure why she wants to stop the book from being excluded from trial.

I’m not sure either but I was just wondering if it was a dig at WA. Like she doesn’t want WA to get any acclaim for the book.

If the book is incriminating then that would be the reason why DA wants it excluded.

ETA: the book is a fictional story about Wendy’s life. It will be interesting to see if the book means something in relation to the case.

re TV WA stated in the LE interview that the Best Buy technician
"came out to tell me what was wrong with it."
"told me it wasn't fixable"
"so I called Charlie to ask if I should buy a new one or fi this one"

She knew what was wrong with it.
He told her it could not be fixed.
But she still phoned CA to ask him?

And CA never said she phoned him to speak about the TV. There was no mention of the TV according to him. And that conversation about the stupid TV lasted 18 minutes!

Interpreting the hand written notes in the Clerk’s Court Worksheet dated 3/24 (see attached), it appears as thus
  • Motion for consideration discovery issues to be filed as motion in limine. Instruction is given to contact JA for time (Note: I assume JA stands for Judge’s Assistant)
  • Motion for venue already set for D/S (Note: I assume D/S stands for Date Set. It appears, Donna Adelson is going again to argue against the larger court room “G” for trial as she prefers the smaller room “B” to limit the audience and avoid unnecessarily feeling embarrassed by large audience as argued by Dan Rashbaum last year. Or perhaps, she is going to argue for change of venue ... to another County Court's jurisdiction ... this late in the "game"?)
  • Deadline for depositions and discovery issues 4/30
  • Deadline for filing motions in limine 5/9
  • Case management conference D/S 5/16 set already (Note: this is the date set to include the consideration for the motion for venue)
If someone else knows better, please correct otherwise.

Coming depositions
  • Jerome Obed on 4/1 at 8:00 am in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Dr. Jerome Obed is a former roommate and “friend” of Charles Adelson. I would assume Dr. Jerome Obed would want to distance himself from the Adelson family after Charles Adelson's conviction for first degree murder. What good would be his deposition for Charles Adelson's mother, or eventually father and sister ... for the larger view of allegations in the grand jurors' affidavits?
  • Francis Magbanua on 4/1 at 9:00 am in Fort Lauderdale, FL. IT Executive Francis Magbanua is an older brother of Katherine Magbanua and current custodian of her 2 kids. In one interview, he told FBI Patrick Sanford that he expected to be interrogated even before FBI asked to interview him; and he is prepared to say everything he knows ... provided his lawyer Chris DeCoste is present. Then, when time came to ask him in the presence of Chris DeCoste, he basically expressed to the effect of ... knowing nothing.
  • Patrick Sanford on 5/7 at 9:00 am in Tallahassee, FL. Donna Adelson has filed a notice dated today 3/28 for taking the deposition of Patrick Sanford on 5/7. This 5/7 date already trespassed the 4/30 deadline. Perhaps, this date depends on the FBI Special Agent’s availability. Patrick Sanford arrested Donna Adelson at MIA. Transcripts of Court proceedings show that he was tipped by Charles Adelson's "friend" Scott Radis ... who was intrigued by the Adelson's parents admonition that Mr. Radis should not reveal to their son Charles their whereabouts!
It is my assumption that the testimony of these three witnesses could not be favorable to Donna Adelson.

There's a character in the novel that Wendi based on herself. I've only ever read the synopsis, but if I recall correctly, the protagonist is an immigration lawyer married to a pompous, inconsiderate jerk who drags her to a middle-of-nowhere college town. Eventually the Wendi character wises up and walks out on him. She also adopts a baby and gives the child her own last name, not his.

Keep in mind, the novel was published while Wendi and Dan were still together. They would divorce a couple of years later. I would say similarities between the book and real-life could shed some light on Wendi's (and Donna's) motivations.

Jeff said on the stand that it wasn’t under warranty and wasn’t fixable.
I wonder if he knew that Best Buy was going there.
You’d think WA would have mentioned it to Jeff, having been scheduled when she was in Miami.
She didn’t say on ther date 5 days before the murder “Oh, it’s good we didn’t go away this week. The Best Buy guy is coming Friday morning”.
So when they planned St Augustine, she never told im about the Best Buy appointment.

To which Jeff may say “Best buy? That TV isn’t under warranty and it can’t be fixed.

WA was using the warranty as an excuse for why Donna scheduled it.
Yet WA said she paid for the guy to come.
If something is under warranty, you don’t pay.

And the call with Wendi then kicked off a series of calls between CA & DA, CA & KM and KM & SG that would go back and forth until Dan was killed.

So, Charlie was simultaneously conversing with his sister about the TV and at the same time was planning a murder. Really impressive multitasking!

Right. It was to discuss relationship issues he was having with KM

And JL had offered multiple times to buy her a new TV.. yet she refused.

"If something is under warranty, you don’t pay."

Yeah well spotted. If its a warranty job, Best Buy will insist the customer brings in the product.

JP Keener was a creepy young teacher at JP Taravella High School in the early 90s. Unsurprising he "kept in touch" with a student he may have perceived of as pretty.

Didn’t JL says there was an elderly professor who was also smitten with WA? I think they may have interviewed him on one of those dateline shows. He was sitting in his office and I believe he mentioned something to the effect that he had a car that looked like the Prius. And he was fearful. Maybe someone else can confirm.

I’m not sure if you can bring it in. I have one a mile away. Next time I pass I can ask (Unless you know for sure).
I’m thinking that Donna never described what the “injury” was. She probably just said it wasn’t working. And interesting that she didn’t pay for the visit. Perhaps they never thought they’d get caught and have to account for this. I know GC asked Wendi who paid for it and she said she did. She paid for her alibi.
So hopefully the question was for a reason. (Such as buyers with TV’s under warranty do not pay for service calls)

I'm an empath, but I feel nothing for her. Any time my brain tries to kid me into feeling empathy I remind it that she is responsible for the murder of an innocent man who will never get to see or touch his kids again. The Adelsons destroyed many lives, obviously Dans, but also their own, their grandkids, KM, SG, LR and all their kids and relatives. Sorry but for me zero f's given.
Same here. Sounds like a fitting ride for an alleged murderer.

I am talking about the narrow metal seat and the drive for 7 hours. It would be painful for anyone sitting there. Of course my sympathy ends when I remember what she did. That van would probably not transport many people 7 hours. I have seen many movies with transport vans and they are not designed like this. Have you ever seen a transport vehicle with uncushioned narrow bar seating?
Now we know she’s guilty.
But imagine an elderly lady not yet tried having to endure 7 hours of this?
I’m just saying that the seating could have been a bit better. Thats all.
She's NOT that elderly- in her 70's. She's playing it up. And yes I've had 7 hour car rides. Not a big deal. We do it all the time to visit my daughter in another state.
