These are my thoughts exactly, something I've articulated since her arrest. She used CA from day 1 and has no loyalty nor love for him. "I know you'll come through for me Charlie." She pressured and manipulated him in to killing Dan without a consideration for him, knowing full well he could be arrested and jailed. A loving parents would do everything in their power to protect and stop their child from committing a serious crime like this.

Irrespectively, she and her lawyer know that CA is dying in prison, Throwing him under the bus is a moot point and this will be her strategy. My son orchestrated this entire plan, I had no idea. He begged me to drop off money on the night DanM was shot. i thought it was money he was using to build an orphanage...

She won't flip on HA and may or may not flip on WA. But her MO in her trial is to fight for her own survival, her family will come a poor second. How that manifests itself I don't know, but it's now every man for himself.

What's Charlie's status? Is he getting a re-trial because of Rashbaum? Haven't been closely following.

CA's lengthy "Initial Brief" appeal was filed on May 7. The State will respond with their "Answer Brief" by August 5. He remains in the South Dakota State Prison in Sioux Falls although it sounds like he may be taking a vacation for a few weeks to the Leon County Jail next month.

Flip on Wendi? Wasn't Wendi always the golden child, the child she loved more than the others? The one she did all of this for?

I don't think Donna will actually flip on Charlie. I think she'll try the Sgt. Shultz defense: "I know nothing." She'll claim that her son asked her for money and she gave it to him. Her son asked her to hire KM for a no-work job and she obliged. She had no knowledge of any murder plot. She was just being an overindulgent mother.

Nor do I think she'll flip on Wendi. She may be upset and frustrated with Wendi, but making sure her grandsons are Adelsons is her primary motivation and I don't see her doing anything that will jeopardize that. More to the point, I see no way to implicate Wendi in a way that doesn't blow back on herself. To say Wendi was involved would basically prove that Donna was a part of the conspiracy.

DA is going to to try to make it look like she was clueless about the murder plot. I suppose it’s possible WA knew absolutely nothing about this until the murderous deed was done. She didn't distance herself. She was the only one that knew where and when DM would be at certain times and she told CA so he could tell KM and she then told the hit men.She even did a drive by after the fact just to make sure the job got done. She is as dirty as they come and benefited the most from his murder. JMOO

Oh I absolutely believe she was involved or knew beforehand. Remains to be seen whether that can be proven. I guess we’ll know if the State has enough evidence for that after DA.

I think she'll say that, but that will be flipping on him. KM came to his house at 10.45pm on the night of the shooting and informed him SG and LR were extorting him. However if DA claims she gave money to CA at 9PM on the night of the shooting that destroys his extortion story as well as his credibility.

What a messed up family. For whatever reason DA and HA seem to have genuine affection for one another, but their kids are nothing more than possessions. I don't think there was ever any genuine love for their kids. Look at how they treated Robert.

During the hearing on Friday, Donna Adelson, along with her defense lawyers and prosecutors, appeared in court to discuss two recently filed motions. The two motions addressed included a motion to compel raw phone data to be shared and a motion to extend some deadlines.

During the hearing, Judge Everett granted both motions, extending the deadline to July 21 for any new motion to be filed. But he made it clear the trial date itself wouldn’t slip.

“This is not just arbitrary date making to throw something out. If we are going to have a trial on the merits, it will be orderly,” the judge said.

The dysfunction of this woman and family is such a smack in the face as I watch the videos of the wiretaps and the trial. Absolutely no shame (just privilege and entitlement) when she was being arrested and walked through the airport upon arrest. The way she grabbed at her phone and acted like her husband was unable to get home by himself.

You would think she would recognize that no jury is gonna buy the horse manure they are pedaling. Just plead guilty for goodness sakes. She has ravaged the lives of the Markel family and seems content to drag the whole world along on another trial that will get the same level of guilty. Those poor boys will someday learn of the family betrayal in ways that will re-victimize them. Ugggghhhh.
