I was referring to Zed’s belief - meaning he is placing a lot of stock on the impact of Sara’s statement.

I don't know how WA gets past JL and SY's statements. Putting aside Accessory for a minute, the State will make a very strong case that WA knew before the murder that CA had looked into hiring hitmen to kill DanM. (JL's statement). And the State will make a very strong case that WA knew after the murder that CA may have hired hitmen to kill DanM. (SY's statement).

Also note she phoned SY on the day of SG's arrest and asked her "what if my crazy brother hired a hitman to kill Dan?"

It was never revealed in the press until months later that SG had been hired to kill DanM. It was just stated that a man had been arrested in relation to the shooting of DanM. That was it. How did she know hitmen were involved?

So if WA tries to refute that statement and suggest SY is lying she will just destroy what's left of her credibility. If she admits it, then she's in trouble. And even if she does deny it, the jury will look at the two parallel statements and concur that on the balance of probabilities, WA did indeed make those statements.

Otherwise what's the point in witness testimony if multiple credible witnesses can have their statements summarily dismissed.

Also witness credibility is key. e.g the two bozos DA enlisted to claim KM told them she was set up by the Adelsons have zero credibility and will be laughed out of court. Juxtaposed with the likes of SY and Rob Adelson, two very highly credible witnesses whose statements will be more or less accepted as truth. WA has little to no credibility. She has lied multiple times.

It might have been you on Reddit that suggested all WA had to do (to dismiss SY's statement) was to dilute the strength of her statement to SY re Charlie e.g implying she had just heard a rumour or something, one of the school Mums told her... she will be laughed out of court. She has no credibility.

If she does not address SY's statement with some kind of plausible reason, a reasonable jury will simply accept SY's statement. As CA and DA have both found out to their chagrin, any banal answer will not do. "Oh I went to non-extradition country as it would be easier to return....."

So IMO GC has WA by the balls. The case against WA is largely circumstantial, but is made easier by her lack of credibility. Even if she does tell the truth it will be disregarded or taken with a pinch of salt. More lies from WA in DA's trial and GC's case against WA will be even easier.

I’ve made that same point before. We don’t know her typical call habits but most assume that morning it was a lot. No lie - it’s 11::00am on a Sat morning and at the time of this message, I already have well over 20 ‘events’ (texts and calls) back and forth to and from friends, family and my local mechanic - all from this AM. Combination of random messages, car ready for pickup, mom checking in, discussing Investments, discussing fantasy football league. I think I saw Wendi had 19 events. I have one text with friends that is 6 back and forth messages (6 events). The notion that she tried to be on the phone all morning as an alibi doesn’t make any sense to me. If there was a murder, I guess I’d be accused of having car work done as an alibi? .

She was adamant about not having enough protein in the (her) prison system. She expressed her frustration about the meals being loaded with carbs. This, combined with no outdoor walking has contributed to her weight gain. I’m sure that her intestinal health has declined significantly.

DA’s whining aside, it does suck that prisoners have to eat garbage and cannot walk around an outdoor track. I’m not saying hire a Pilates instructor and build a gym, but what’s wrong with an hour or two of outdoor activity each day? As far as the food goes, you would THINK a government run facility would serve food within the FDA recommended guidelines. How are people supposed to be rehabilitated without access to education, counseling, the outdoors and sustenance?

I agree with you on both points but remember that this is a County facility and it's a jail, not a prison. They wouldn't be bound to comply with any federal FDA guidelines but they probably hit some prescribed calorie numbers with the high carbohydrate content. The jail seems to be operating at near-capacity which affects outdoor time. Finally, the jail is landlocked in a larger City of Tallahassee government complex and there is no track, just a few courtyards. There is a group of adjacent softball fields right next door and when Ted Bundy was there, we'd see him during our games standing right against the fence wearing a sweater and just staring into space. I don't believe inmates are allowed on the periphery anymore. CA lost weight and regained some skin tone after he left LCJ; I imagine DA will too

Yes if you look at the menu there is no protein for breakfast. They have protein shakes for Ghislaine Maxwell in the prison she was transferred in Texas where you can get protein shakes in commissary. Probably the cheap “Premiere Protein” but still better than the breakfast at Leon.

How about her podcast less than a year after the murder where she says her ex was killed by “Professionals” (or singular Professional). AKA hitmen.

How would she have known that at the time?

Also, I was thinking (Haven’t listened to the Isom interview again to confirm), but was she told he was shot in the head? I recall Isom saying “your ex husband was shot”..so when she asked if he was “scary” looking, was she thinking because of his face?

So if she knew he was shot in the face without being told that…thats important.

Never asked where it happened. Wa sit in the house? Where was he shot? Etc. Just goes on to say she thought a tree was down when she saw the roadblock. Then proceeds with her alibi. And says “He wouldn’t do this to himself”. Did she think this was self inflicted to the head without even being told what his injuries were”?

She was never told it was in the face. She was not told it was in his car.
I will now try and scan through the whole interview to see if she was ever told it was in the face (head). So to ask if he looks “scary”..well if he was shot in the chest for instance, he would not look scary. Even shot anywhere in the body other than the face he would not look scary.

I do recall Isom suggesting she not visit him with the boys. The question is how did she know his face was disfigured? Was she told that he was in the car? Ok I”ll work on it unless someone knows for sure.

PS Something important I had forgotten about.
Isom asked her if she had any contact with DM after he left that 9:02 voice mail that she claims she didn’t see till before she called him back at 11:42.
She says she had texting back and forth with him “that wasn’t very nice” (about her anger that it was his time to pick up the boys, swimming etc) well, if she didn’t see he called (she suggested her ringer was off and didn’t know about that call till later), and never heard his voicemail, when exactly were all these texts?

There is no documentation of any texting back and forth on her call log, or ANY correspondence between Wendi and DM after the call he left at 9:02 until she called back at 11:45.

How can she say she had these back and forth texts with him where there is no record of that?

I’ve never heard anyone on any podcast mention this. Many people have not watched or listened to that 6 hour interview.

There is ONE incidence on record of phone correspondence from Dan Markel to his ex wife.
That was 9:02 AM. After that…nothing. He never texted her that day. And she never texted him.

Courtroom 'mud fight' ahead as Donna Adelson goes on trial in notorious Dan Markel murder​

The slugfest initiated way back in April when the defense attorneys started to ask for deadline extension.

• Thereafter, they escalated with accusing the Judge of ex parte communications, accusing the State Attorneys of withholding information and trespassing discovery rules, and filing a stream of motions to suppress evidence and testimony.
• The continuance in June is one salient illustration of their success. The number of motions for which the Judge has not ruled as of today August 17, two days before the scheduled start of the trial, is another illustration of the defense attorneys’ obstructive tactics.

The Judge stated that the motion hearing of August 8 was the last before trial. However, there will be a postpositive motion hearing tomorrow August 18 at 1:30 PM (it seems)

• Besides the prior motions taken under advisement and Wendi Adelson’s motion to quash the defense’s subpoena, Donna Adelson’s attorneys have filed another motion to suppress testimony as late as on Friday August 15.
• The Judge’s rulings on those many motions will define the future shape of the on-going slugfest.
