August 24th, 2007 Family Letter

Friday August 24th marks 19 months since Jennifer was last seen or heard from. She is still considered “Missing and Endangered” by Orlando Police., Orange County Police, FDLE and the FBI. We, as her family, still hold out HOPE that Jennifer will be found alive and brought home. We hold that belief due to the continuing fact that nothing has been found or used of hers since 1/23/2006, 19 months ago. So until someone comes forward or evidence is discovered to the contrary we will stay with the belief she is alive, held against her will and is waiting to be found and rescued! We will not stop our fight to find our Missing Daughter for the good or the bad, Jennifer needs to come home – NOW!!

We again plead with anyone who has any information about Jennifer or the Suspect who last drove and parked her car in the Huntington on the Green Condo’s at the corner of Americana and Texas Ave in Orlando Florida, 1/24/2006 at Noon, to come forward for Jennifer’s sake. End her pain now! There is still reward money available for information leading to Jennifer’s whereabouts as well as for information leading to the Suspect’s Identification and whereabouts. We are a desperate family looking for our loved Daughter who was taken in an instant without cause. Please take the time to view the photos of the Suspect/Person of Interest on this website. Take the time as many of you have many times to pass on the information to all the people you know and ask them to read about her abduction and pass on her website to all they know. Awareness is everything and we continue to this day to receive tips everyday and we thank you, don’t stop her awareness campaign. Jennifer will be found and you, the people, who visit this site and care enough to keep her story moving forward are our biggest asset. You do make a difference when you pass on her information – Please do not stop!!!

We were invited and will be attending Florida’s State Missing Person’s Day Ceremony, September 10th at the State Capital in Tallahassee. Jennifer will be a featured Missing Person at the Ceremony hosted by The Governor, State’s Attorney and FDLE.

The outpouring of support we receive from people in the Orlando area as well as the state, country and around the world still amazes and humbles our family. We were recently contacted by a local Artist from Orlando, D. Rector from Nakimalon Arts Inc, www.Nakimalon.com . Not knowing how he could help, his daughters inspired him to create a portrait of Jennifer to let us know people do really care and are supporting us in our fight to find Jennifer. He presented that portrait to us recently and is a true work of art. D. Rector we thank you for your creative work and support for Jennifer and our family.

We would like to share another “Letters from Home” from our friend Kathleen;

I came into the Kesse circle later on when I married into it. I can remember the first time I met Jennifer. The first thing that grabs you is her physical beauty. Then I watched her interact with everyone and listened to what she had to say. I thought to myself, this is a composed, intelligent, focused young woman with big heart, beautiful inside and out. She seemed to me to be mature beyond her years, but that was balanced with a terrific sense of fun and enjoyment of life. She was as they say "the whole package". Wow, how far she could go in life. What a fantastic future was ahead of her. Those were my thoughts back then.

When my husband called and told me she had disappeared, I pulled the car over to the side of the road. My legs were shaking and I couldn't focus on driving. I did finally make it to the business meeting I was headed to, but I did not hear a word. Much to my dismay a year later, I was at the same meeting at the same place, same time and still no Jenn.

I talk about her to everyone I meet who will listen. I just did this today and spoke to someone I had never met before. They all ask the same questions, make the same comments. "Well maybe she just wanted a break from her life". No I answer, she has a fabulous life. She loves her job. She loves her new home. She loves her family and friends. There was nothing to take a vacation from. " Maybe she has another life somewhere and is living that life" No, I say. She was extreme close to her family. She would never make them suffer." She is a direct and truthful young woman. If there was another life for her she would go live it. She isn't about scheming, lying or deceit. This is not in her nature.

She was taken by someone. And if that person has a child, a mother, father, sister or brother, aunts, uncles, cousins who they love and care about then they need to put themselves in our shoes. Think of how her disappearance has affected Jenn's family and friends. This person of interest has not done an honorable thing. But they could do something honorable by picking up the phone to tell us where she is. Just a sentence or two that would enable us to find her, this would be enough. That would be all it would take to help another family to go on. This person should call the police. Enough time has passed. It would only take a phone call to bring peace to themselves and us.

Kathleen

19 months and one day.

Where are you, Jennifer?

We will keep asking that question until someone finds an answer.

What else can we do here to help find Jennifer? Perhaps we are putting too much effort into trying to figure out a POI we cannot know and not enough in researching other areas. We have spent so much time on that photo and very little time on searching UIDs, for instance.

We have gone over every single detail in depth and have come up with some great questions...but we can't find any answers without the cooperation of the family or LE. Are we just spinning our wheels here? It is troubling because I feel this "thinktank" has been most productive with questions which need to be answered and could open up other avenues for LE to follow. It is too bad the right people won't take us seriously enough to read what is here. There are many intelligent minds taking a great amount of time and effort to bring forth logical paths to follow or even steps backward to move Jennifer's case forward.

Hope that no one is giving up on Jenn- she's still out there and her family still needs answers.

Hoping for answers and for Jenn to brought home :)

I thought about Jennifer and this case a long time last night before I turned in. The sad reality is if they only wait on tips and leads to come in which are now almost nil...this case will never go anywhere in the right direction to find Jennifer. Her family wants answers, but they aren't willing to look for them. They have left it up to LE and LE has already taken this straight to a cold case.

The general concensus here, I believe, is that it has been on a failed track from the beginning based on what little information we can glean from the media and what we have been able to piece together from hours of serious study plus leg work.

Our members haven't simply been idle as we have had people visit the locations to answer questions and work with what we found. We aren't your average armchair detectives. We have brought to light many questions, issues, and problems with the case. We have studied, argued, scoured the net, and have done everything possible to come up with anything to move the case forward to find Jennifer.

I guess this thread will move to a back burner until the POI decides to turn himself in someday. It is what LE seems to be waiting for, but it isn't very likely to happen, IMO.

I will continue to keep Jennifer, her family, and friends in my thoughts and prayers.

Maybe we could print Jennifer's threads and send them to her tip address? (I think there is one?) At least that would bring the questions to the family's attention and it may persuade them into looking in a different direction.

  • #148
I don't know who would take the time to decifer them tho. I would highly doubt they would br received with any positive response, imo.

Kesse's family in Tallahassee today

Tallahassee, Florida - The family of Jennifer Kesse, the Gaither High graduate who has been missing more than a year now, have been invited to a special ceremony at the Capitol.
The family of Jennifer Kesse will be visiting with state senators today and attending a “Missing Persons Day ” ceremony.
Jennifer has been missing since January 2006, when she was expected to go into work and never showed up. Kesse had just bought a new condo in Orlando and that is where police believe she was last seen. Her car was found about a mile from her condo. Investigators have also since released surveillance video of someone they say could be a suspect in the case.
Jennifer's family tells 10 News that after the ceremony this morning, they will meet with senators and representatives to try and get a bill sponsored. The bill helps coordinate efforts between different agencies when it comes to helping to solve "missing persons" cases.

Families Remember Missing Children
TALLAHASSEE, FL - Families of missing children gathered at Florida's capitol for a ceremony to remember and honor the state's missing children.
Trenton Ducket, Tiffany Sessions and Jennifer Kesse are only a few of Florida's many missing children.
"Sometimes you feel like there's no hope left, but you have to keep going, because if you don't, who's going to be looking after your child?" Hilary Sessions said of her daughter.
One by one families of missing persons placed a single rose next to their loved one's picture.
Drew and Joyce Kesse spoke to First Coast News after the ceremony.
"I was focusing on Jennifer."
"And we were talking to her during the ceremony and just looking at her picture and talking to her and just reassuring her that she knows she's loved and that we're never going to give up."
It's the not giving up hope and not knowing these families share.
"We just want a hug. We just want to hold her hand and tell her we love her," said Joyce Kesse.
"Hopefully, Lord willing, we'll have a miracle."

Missing Persons Day
By: Brittany Benner
Tallahassee, Florida -- It's a parent's worst nightmare: finding out your child is missing. Students, teachers and families gathered at the Capitol in honor of "Missing Persons Day."
Kids got their fingerprints taken and photos for identification records. Students also learned what they should do if a stranger tries to take them away.
"You should usually scream and yell 'You’re not my parent!' or 'You’re not my mother, you’re not my father, HELP! HELP!' and people will usually come over and try to help you,” said 10-year-old Isaac Bernstein.
According to a release from the governor’s office, more than 51,000 children were reported missing in Florida last year.
Following this morning’s fingerprinting and extended classroom learning, there was a ceremony honoring Florida’s “Missing Persons.”
“We certainly feel the sadness for the children that we’ve lost,” said Lieutenant Governor Jeff Kottcamp.
Trenton Duckett, Tiffany Sessions and Jennifer Kesse are only a few of Florida’s many missing children.
“Sometimes you feel like there’s no hope left, but you have to keep going because if you don’t, who’s gonna be looking after your child?” said Hilary Sessions. Her daughter Tiffany has been missing for 18 and a half years.
Hundreds gathered at the Capitol Courtyard to remember those loved ones in honor of “Missing Persons Day.” There, law enforcement officers and citizens were recognized for their hard work.
Jiya Park of Castle Creek Elementary School read her award-winning essay with tips to keep kids safe.
“There are many dangers on MySpace, so to be safe, always ask your parents before you post a picture or anything else,” said Park.
Then, one by one, families of missing persons placed a single rose next to their loved one’s picture.
“I was focusing on Jennifer, fortunately,” said Drew Kesse. “And we were talking to her during the ceremony and just looking at her picture and talking to her and just reassuring her that she knows she’s loved and that we’re never gonna give up,” said Joyce Kesse. Their only child, Jennifer Kesse, disappeared from her Orlando condo a year and a half ago.
It’s the not giving up of hope…
“It’s the toughest place I’ve ever been, standing in front of there,” said Drew Kesse.
And not knowing...
“We just want a hug. We just want to hold her hand, tell her we love her,” said Joyce Kesse.
These families share…
“Hopefully, Lord willing, we’ll have a miracle,” said Joyce Kesse.
On “Missing Persons Day.”
Missing Persons Day falls on the second Monday of September each year.

Missing Children’s Day Held In Tallahassee

Remembering The Missing
Some of the most high profile missing persons cases are from Florida. Many of the missing were remembered in Tallahassee Monday.
Dozens of families joined state leaders and law enforcement to pay tribute to their loved ones.
But, Drew and Joyce Kesse are going a step further. It's been a year-and-a-half since their daughter Jennifer disappeared from her Orlando apartment complex.
Now, they're asking lawmakers to clear Florida’s DNA backlog, which is thousands of samples from felons that haven't been registered
“Let's think about the people that live here and the people that are taken, and we have to do something to stem the crime, and this is just one little part of it all,” said Drew and Joyce Kesse.
The Kesse’s think bringing the state's DNA database up to speed could be key to solving their daughter's case.

Few answers on Missing Children Day

Despite billboards and public appeals, parents rarely hear from missing children again. We've got you covered
TALLAHASSEE - They spent months looking for their children. They handed out fliers, searched through wooded areas, and did countless interviews on TV.
It's the same story for every family dealing with a missing child.
Monday morning in Tallahassee, these families came together to remember each one. It was Missing Person's Day. Each family placed a rose next to their loved ones picture.
Jennifer Kesse has been missing for over a year. The Gaither High School graduate was living in Orlando and vanished from her apartment complex.
Kesse's mom, fighting back tears at the ceremony, offered these words to other parents:
"Make sure that every single day, you tell your children how much you love them. How much you care for them. And no matter what you child could do, that, that love is unconditional," said Joyce Kesse.
Denise Simpkins has been dealing with her loss for seven years.
Her nephew Zachary Bernhardt disappeared from his Clearwater home. She explains what it was like when she found out he was gone.
"The whole ride over to Clearwater. We just kept calling each other saying, have they found him yet? Have they found him yet? Thinking it was going to be over in just a couple of minutes," she recalled.
But minutes, turned to hours, which turned to days and then years.
Now she helps run the Child Protection Education of America agency in Hillsborough County. They educate parents on how to prevent an abduction or at least how to react if one happens.
Simpkins said, "At least I know that if we can help prepare parents so that, if they ever become in our situation. They're better equipped. We weren't. We didn't know what to do. We didn't know how to do it."
She kept help others in their desperate time of need.

I love how Florida is doing a "Missing Person's Day", is this recognized nationwide in other cities? I admire the strength
of the Kesses's. Any kind of bill to help expedite the process in helping to locate these individuals, is priceless. I sure hope the Senators LISTEN.

Thanks for all the great information!

  • #153
In regards to the bill, there was actually a bill in the Senate last session, however there was no companion bill in the House. So next session, the intention is to have bills in both chambers of the legislature in order to ensure the passing. Anyone in Florida can email their state representatitves and state senators to show their support for this bill. I will keep everyone updated on what bill # it is when the next session begins.

Tomorrow marks 20 months since Jenn Kesse vanished. Please keep her in your prayers and keep her family in your prayers. I know there is not much more we can discuss, but we can keep Jennifer's name and story out there. Thanks

Prayers for Jennifer and her family!

Be on the lookout for the Montel show. Jennifer is going to be one of the Missing Persons featured on the Montel Williams show within the next two weeks or so. AMW was also on.

Continuing to pray for Jenn and her family & friends.

  • #157
Are they going to be new episodes or repeats?

I know AMW has had JK's disappearance on an episode in the past. I think she was also on Montel once before. Or Maury. One of those talk shows.

  • #158
She was featured on Maury previously. The Montel Williams show was just taped last week, so it is a new show.

Thanks for the info UCFAlumni
