Part of the promotional material for the Montel show says this:

'You won't believe what her parents, Drew and Joyce, found on an apartment surveillance tape the night she went missing.'

It will be interesting to see if there is anything new in this sad and frustrating case.

That does sound like new info either that or its a very poor reference to the already known tape of the POI parking the car.

If it is new info it will again spark the question of why now and not earlier?

When the show has been on can someone post the details.
I'm still following the case and we get Montel here but not sure when and on what channel it will be aired probably in 6 months time or something!.

I seriously doubt it's new info because Greta would have been all over it!! LOL! If it was new info you don't wait for tape delayed show to air but you take it to the public via law enforcement and live media like the nightly news or live news programs.

I just read through the last couple of pages fairly quickly but I think it is pretty unfair to say how the parents of a missing person should or shouldn't act. No one can say how they would act in a terrifying situation such as this.

Mr and Mrs Kesse seem to think the police have done a great job. How many times have we heard the parents of missing children state that the police have not done enough? Many times.

I doubt Mr and Mrs Kesse would have a problem going public with their displeasure of the OPD if they felt the authorities weren't doing enough to help find their daughter.

If the OPD is good enough for her parents, then I'm not going to criticize them either. It's very difficult to find one person without public help. Yes the cops should've released the tape earlier. However it's highly unlikely it would've made a difference. The video and photo are not clear at all. If somebody recognized the person who drove and parked her car, they are not talking. No police force in the world would be able to solve this type of crime without public help unless the suspect's DNA is on profile in a prior arrest or something. If they have DNA though, it needs to be tested with everyone in the state or the national database or whatever they use these days. That's where law enforcement needs to improve. More funding for a huge DNA database, more testing done. They're so backed up with requests for any DNA matches from samples they recover. It's not just an Orlando Police thing, it's a national problem.

By the way, I doubt Mr and Mrs Kesse would make it public if they hired a PI to investigate. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they hired one a long time ago.

What's sick about Montel is he supports that lunatic Sylvia Browne. Sylvia Browne has been discredited as a fraud by so many people including some national media yet she keeps spewing her lies. Even some nationally prominent people have called Montel out for having Sylvia Browne on the show but he refuses to talk to them about it. I guess he gets good ratings since there are so many naive people out there who are willing to believe anything no matter how ridiculous it is.

It would have been better if Jen's case were on a more reputable show since Montel lost his credibility long ago. But it's good to get Jen's case out there regardless.

On tomorrow's show, there are no psychics. Stepha Henry will be featured, Jenn will be featured, and a few others. They will also have a profiler and someone from America's Most Wanted.

Hi Uk.

Show just aired.

Not anything new at all.

Joyce and Drew were on for about 10 minutes. They simply explained the case, and their search.

Drew mentioned that according to LE, there is no evidence pointing at JK being dead, nor alive. So, they are assuming she is alive.

Drew mentioned about the FBI DNA database being behind.

Joyce seems convinced that JK is alive.

Both reiterated that JK never had her cellphone go straight to voicemail.

Drew said there was no evidence of a struggle in JK's condo, according to LE.

Drew mentioned he believes that someone should be able to recognize the POI's gait, clothes, build, etc. (I couldn't agree more)

All in all, nothing at all new. The case seems like it has gotten colder, if at all possible.

One thing I did pick up on, is that the Kesse's seem to be looking for a live person. I love that optimism, and I hope JK is alive. However, I do think a parallel investigation, assuming the worse should be considered.

One question I do have:

If Drew keeps harping on the FBI DNA database being years behind, then does LE have DNA from the POI?

If yes, why isn't OPD obtaining DNA samples from everyone who lives at Mosaic, works at Mosaic, knows JK, etc.?

Plus, what is the source of the DNA?

Supposedly, there is no sign of a struggle. So, is the DNA a hair, or what?

How does LE know the DNA is from the POI, and not a transfer from some other source?

Did the DNA come from the gym bag? Was there a gym bag found in the dumpster?

Why isn't Drew mentioning JK's IPOD, and trying to ask people to find her IPOD, and give out the serial number of JK"s IPOD?

Also, why weren't the detectives assigned to this case on Montel?

Are they still working the case? How is the internet search going? What about the search of the Mosaic pond?

I said this about a year ago, and I'll say it again.

Time for LE to show their hand. Exactly what is the downside? Just look at the Unabomber case, and it will show how vital sharing information with the public can be in solving "cold" cases.

How do you know they're not or they haven't?

I think so. Or skin or something.

How does LE know the DNA is from the POI, and not a transfer from some other source?
I don't think it would be that hard to find out. How many people were in JK's car recently before she vanished? Her, her boyfriend, maybe some of her girlfriends, perhaps her brother and folks. They could all be checked out for DNA samples, her parents could give a DNA sample to see if it was a close match with hers.

Why isn't Drew mentioning JK's IPOD, and trying to ask people to find her IPOD, and give out the serial number of JK"s IPOD?
Interesting theory left. I'm not sure they're able to do that. I suspect she had Itunes on her computer so she could download her music to her Ipod. That should make it so the serial number of her Ipod is stored on her computer. I dunno if they'd be able to track the serial number though. I can't remember what they reported on that Dateline when they were talking about Ipod theft. Also if the suspect threw the Ipod away along with her purse, then obviously the Ipod won't be any help. But they should look into the Ipod angle for sure.

My guess is they've showed their hand and that's all they've got. A hair sample or DNA found isn't gonna be useful to show the public. I don't think they have anything left.

Montel said that 23,000 children go missing EVERY DAY and this is one of them, Jennifer Kesse. WHAT?!?? I see a couple things wrong with that statement. First, I seriously doubt 23,000 kids go missing every day!! At first he said 2300 then he changed it to 23,000. Maybe 2300/day but even that's hard to believe. Secondy, Jennifer is not a child!! Do you think he meant just 23,000 people go missing a day? That still sounds much too high.

Also, Joyce Kesse still feels in her gut that Jen is alive but Drew Kesse then basically said regardless he wants to bring Jen home. Can you imagine someone feeding and sheltering Jen for almost 2 years?? Has that ever happened before with an adult?

I think Montel got his numbers to day ratio mixed up, and he's not relaying the actuality: In 2000 it is thought to be that 2100 missing reports were made a day.

As for holding an adult captive for 2 years... rarely has that happened, but it probably could. Most of the time people that are found after a good while of going missing by abduction, tend to be kids (ie: Shawn Hornbeck, the girl from Utah, etc).

I guess if I was in those parents shoes and that was my daughter, I would hold onto every last hope that she was still alive.

In an article posted in October 2006, her family stated they were taking her story statewide. If I had a missing family member, I would go to any location people would let me so I could get the word out.

Although her abduction happened in Orlando, the person who might know something could be anywhere. Jennifer is from the Tampa area.

Why didn't LE use the new equipment they had to search the ponds as they mentioned months ago?

That Tim Miller (?) from Equisearch offered over a YEAR ago to help do that but for some strange reason they keep refusing.

If the Kesses told him to come they would come.

This had nothing to do with Tim Miller and Equusearch. LE came out a few months ago touting new equipment and said they were considering using it on those ponds. The link is somewhere on this thread, but I am not going to dig back to find it. LOL

Why don't you want to find the link? I thought you're serious about searching? LOL!
