I've been getting up to speed on this. There is a lot of good evidence but no suspect; or if there is, LE is saying nothing.
The fact that nothing is missing from her apt (and no idication of any crime scene in the unit) and the only missing items are things (like the phones) that that she would have taken with her that day, pretty much establishes that she was abducted after she left her apt.
I have been trying to find out when Security checked on her after her parents called. Does anyone the time this occured? If this was earlier than 11:50 AM, it is very significant because her car was gone. If the car was taken from her space any earlier than 11:50 AM, it would mean that the Perp had driven the car from somewhere OTHER THAN HER PARKING SPACE, to the spot he left it. This would mean that her car was probably used in the abduction and it was driven to the crime scene /dump site. The obvious explaination for the Perp's
return to the complex was to retrive his own car.
This has not been publicly released that I can find... I've always been curious on the last time someone saw Jenn's car there as well.
LE has reported that Jen's gas tank was "about half full; about right for the distance she drove since her last know gas purchase", but this isn't good enough; The Police should have measured the exact amount of gas used used(and then retrace her known route) and they would have a pretty accurate gauge of how much gas was used/ miles were drive by the Perp. Hopefully this was done, they just aren't telling.
Her last known gas purchase was down in South Florida on Monday January 23, 2006 before she returned to Ocoee, FL for work, and then home after work. About half full would be about right from South Florida to Ocoee and then home (I've made that same drive many times)
I have read one reference to the fact that there was some fresh "mud" on the side and undercarriage of Jen's car. Assuming that there was no know driving that Jen did off of pavement, this "mud" probably came from the crime scene/dump site.
Her car was normally not "clean", however my hope is that they did take samples of it and test it
The FBI should have been able to get a very accurate estimate of the Perp's height from the film. It took over 2 weeks but 5'3" to 5'5" is real short and LE should have been able to put together a pretty accurate "short list" of ALL workmen on that site who fit that description. They may not be able to track them all down (or even know their correct name). Workmen on site are obvious suspects but the Perp probably did not work the morning of the crime (he was doing something else). I would think that all short, slender men with ties to the site would have been checked out and poly'ed; any they couldn't track down would become high level suspects.
The height is probably one of the things in this case that bother lots of us... I'm not sure if 5'3-5'5 is exactly right, but hopefully it's close. Jenn was 5'8 so its hard to imagine someone of the 5'3-5'5 height being able to overpower Jenn.
It is certainly possible that the perp was not a workman at the site. He could have been a resident/frequent visitor at the complex. The Perp could have known her from work or anywhere else. From what I can tell, there was no security gate if you entered the complex from Mellenia Blvd (an anyone verify this?) Anyone with ANY know ties to Jen who fit the physical description would be an obvious suspect.
The only entrance to the complex is off of Conroy and there is no entrance (car) via Millenia Blvd. The one entrance is gated, and supposedly was guarded 24 hours however the guard didn't exactly take down the correct info all the time.
It's entirely possible that they have a "strong POI" but can't make a case and haven't released any info. If they don't, it looks like this guy covered his tracks in a very effective manner and got away with it. There is a good chance he did it before and a better chance he will do it again. I think there is a good chance this guy is a budding serial killer and a real danger. These are the type of cases where it is worth investing whatever resources are necessary to solve
. That is the biggest worry in this case- that this is someone who is an abductor or people who are abductors in the community and who knows when they will strike next.[/quote]
