New to this case and just got kind of caught up. If she left to get help, why didn't he go with her? How did he end up getting help?

i think he had party plans and something went wrong. he hid her body out off the end of the trail and got stuck in the sand returning along the trail in a panic. another driver (female) towed him out.

The witness helped TM out at 3pm, right? I wonder why LE is going with the time frame of 3pm to 6pm? I mean if they wanted to stop people that were on the road at the same time Lacey might have been there wouldn't they want to start before 3pm as Lacey would have been at the road before the truck was pulled from the sand?

Wish LE hadn't announced it... I know LE is looking for witnesses but if Lacey was abducted by someone on the highway that was going about a normal routine (coming home from work etc), and if they were on/going to be on the highway today if they saw the broadcast they'd know to avoid it.

Anyway, I keep trying to link a pic of where the checkpoint would be on Google Maps but the link just goes to a map of the US. I had just wondered about the kind of highway it was in the past. It looks like it has two lanes, I can't tell how busy it is because I can't get live traffic.

Hopefully we'll hear more. I am grateful that LE is doing something.

I really hope you are wrong. It just doesn't look good, does it?

When they say that the dogs tracked Lacey to the highway, I wish I knew if LE had the hounds track to see if TM's scent was with hers. Wish we knew if they had the hounds just track his scent period to see if it matches his story.

It sounds like Lacey's wallet was found in the forest. There are reports that she left the rest of her things in TM's truck. That just doesn't fit with her walking out to the highway and getting abducted from there.

If the wallet was the only thing that Lacey had with her I don't see her unknowingly dropping it because she would have been holding it in her hand.

Depending on the type of purse and wallet I can see a wallet falling out of a purse without it being felt. But if you are holding a wallet in your hand and you drop it, you know what you've done and you're not going to leave it behind.

LE at State Road near Railroad Grade Road in Altoona
-3pm to 6pm, about the time Lacey went missing
-10 LCS road deputies and missing person's detectives flagged down vehicles passing out flyers
-no other checks, questions of drivers
-approx. 600 vehicles passed through the area during those times (as per Sgt. James Vachon)
-Sgt. James Vachon: We're trying everything we can to locate to her."

Deputies also distributed 600 flyers to homesnear the earea Lacey was last seen on County Road 42

Lacey has recently lived in two homes in Lady Lake
-has also lived with her grandparents
-went to Leesburg HS
-reports are she just began living/hanging around TM's home in Ocala National Forest

Lacey has been missing since 12/27/11
-surveillance video from a store shows the two together before going to the forest
-doing drugs with TM when truck became stuck
-Lacey went to State Road 19 to get a ride
-Lacey has not been seen since

"Family and friends now gather at 10 a.m., every Saturday and Sunday at Nelson's Fish Camp on Southeast Highway 42 in Umatilla to search the area and pass out fliers.

I hadn't seen before that TM lived in Ocala Forest before. So they were going to a different area of the forest to "do drugs"?

I wish that we did know where the wallet was found in the forest and where he lives in relationship to Big Scrub/Big Tree.

Okay, lets see if this works.

I've started an attempt at a google map of this case:http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msid=204826649195707348982.0004b767ae5a9bb1187a8&msa=0

I have more to add, but if you see something, I'd really appreciate it if you drop me a line because wading through all the media has been a little difficult for me. Thank you! :)

ETA: Yessssssssssss!!!! :great: Posting the link to the map worked!!! :woohoo:

LBs friend said that TM lived three doors down from LB in the interview with JVM.

LBs friend said that TM lived three doors down from LB in the interview with JVM.

So LB lived in Ocala Forest too? I don't think that I had gotten that. Thanks!

I can't find an address for TM anywhere on line.

Like you noted earlier it seems weird they went to the forest to do drugs. I mean I could understand going to the forest to go hiking and then doing drugs while doing that.... but just going to do drugs? Weird way to put it.

Kinda weird also how LE went from only reporting that Lacy used Meth, then that TM had a history of meth related arrests yet nothing was found in the truck and then finally the reports that TM said they were out there to do drugs.

If TM did say they were using drugs would that be enough for an arrest. Or would his walk on any related charges imply he is a C.I.?

I'm most saddened my the Lacey Buenfil Trust the family has set up for her three girls. I looks to me like they are coming to grips with this being a recovery mission.

It seems obvious to me who they believe is responsible for Lacey's disappearance and I can't imagine what it was like for them to see their daughter described as a drug user and drifter while TM's own drug use and related arrests went unmentioned.

HfH: do you remember if the girl that gave Nikki Lacey's wallet said she found it, or is it a possibility TM gave it to her? When Jane asked for a more specific location of were the wallet was found, the question wasn't answered, but I don't think that was intentional.

Over the weekend I'm going to try and work on the map some more and the media too. Got some of the content down in case some of the articles are taken off the internet. For sure try to wade through the whole JVM interview because at times that one had me a bit confused.:blushing:

Lacey's loved one are in my thoughts tonight, as always. :beats:

I think they lived in Lady Lake. Check the JVM transcript. The best friend describes Lacey as spending 30 days at her grandparents to 'get off drugs' thens goes back home to her place n Lady Lake, where tm is 'cooking' 3 doors down, and she ends up going back on drugs... she mentions i think 15 people she knows/friends living in a trailer park that all do meth.

Her ex describes the situation perfectly. Two people went into the woods, but only one came out. I think he hid her body off the side of the trail and got stuck in the sand coming back in a panic. jmho

Saddened to see not much activity here which usually means not much to discuss. Anything besides the family searching going on locally? What about TM, just going on about his life? What's LE saying, if anything?

Praying for Lacey's family, friends and especially her girls!!!!
